Gentile scores 1,000th career point; Kearney runs streak to six

Colin Gentile netted 12 of his game-high 24 points in the first quarter when Bishop Kearney grabbed a double-digit advantage and went on to win its sixth straight game.

Gentile connected five times from the floor and converted 1-of-2 free throws in the opening eight minutes when BK jumped out to a 29-8 lead. The senior guard finished with five rebounds in the game along with four steals, three assists and the 1,000th point of his career.

Jah Reaves accounted for 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds and fives steals while Russell Ellis had eight points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Geo Rosa connected on four 3-pointers and contributed 14 points.

Maddox Volpe scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds. Chris McLaughlin had five points and five rebounds.

Noah Terry (8), Jayden Capers (4) and Jahan Wilson (4) and Alejandro Aguilar (2) rounded out the scoring for Kearney.

The Kings travel to Aquinas for a 6:00 PM tip-off on Tuesday and host UPrep for a 6:30 start on Thursday to close the regular season.

Gavin Williams led Greece Odyssey with 17 points. Jeremiah Lopez added six for the Leopards. Julian Carter (4), Phoenix Decker (3) and Zack Gagnor (2) also scored.

Odyssey hosts Eastridge for a 7 PM game on Wednesday and travels Brockport on Thursday for its final game of the regular season. A 7 PM start is scheduled A.D. Oliver Middle School.
