One squad is looking to make Section V history and continue a dynasty. Another is looking for a second-straight title and fourth in the last six years. Spencerport and Webster Schroeder clash for the third time this season in the Class AA final on Saturday. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Top-seeded Spencerport (No. 2 NYSWWA Class A) defeated No. 16 Greece Arcadia (10-0), No. 8 Victor (1-0) and No. 4 Pittsford Mendon (4-0) to reach the Class AA final. Webster Schroeder (No. 4 NYSWWA Class A) opened with a 2-1 win over No. 15 Gates Chili. The Warriors then downed No. 7 Greece Athena (2-1) and No. 3 Webster Thomas (2-0) to advance to the Class AA title game.

Trends: Spencerport enters boasting an undefeated record with five straight clean sheets. The Rangers have not allowed more than one goal in a single contest this season. Schroeder has taken down four straight and 10 of the last 11. The Warriors have conceded two goals total in their last four matches.

History 101: Spencerport is looking to win its eighth-straight title, which would surpass the current Section V record of seven straight held by Aquinas (1996-2002). During that time frame, Spencerport claimed the 2016 and a share of the 2017 Class A state championships, as well as making an appearance in the 2019 Class A state final. The Rangers are also looking for their 11th title in program history, which would be tied for fifth most in Section V history. Webster Schroeder is looking to repeat as champions for the second time in program history, having gone back-to-back in 2018 and 2019. Spencerport and Webster Schroeder matched up twice during the regular season, with Spencerport handing Schroeder its only two losses of the season (4-0) and (2-0).
What’s next: The winner advances to the New York State Class AA Far West Regional against the Section VI winner.
A 5 p.m. kickoff is slated for Saturday at Canandaigua High School.
