Greece Post 468 (22-2-1) suffered its second loss of the season on Wednesday, falling to Essex Post 91 (23-0) 7-0 on the first day of the American Legion Baseball Northeast Regional tournament at Fitton Field in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
Drew Bateman struck out one and allowed one hit over three innings of relief. The former Hilton Cadet retired the first six batters he faced.
Kaleb Juliano, Jaden Madrid and Tyler Stack all singled in the game.

Essex Post’s Andrew Goodrich struck out seven and gave up one hit over five innings. The ace went 2-for-4 at the plate including a two-run double with two outs in a three-run third.
Hazen Randall went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Owen Pinaud added an RBI-single in a three-run first, while Eli Bostwick had a sacrifice fly in the third.
Greece Post will play of Shrewsbury Post 397 on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for approximately 12 p.m. at Fitton Field in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
