Marquette University commit Damarius Owens (Aquinas/Western Reserve) led five in double figures with 25 points including 12 in the second half when Rochester pulled away from a single-possession game to defend its title in the Rochester Keepers Battle of New York Championship with a 102-90 win over Albany at Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday.
Owens connected four times from the floor including once from long range as Rochester outscored Albany 47-38 in the second stanza. St. Bonaventure University commit Miles Rose (Bishop Kearney/Putnam Science Academy) finished with 16 points including 10 in the second half.
Turner Harris (Northstar Christian/National Christian Academy) added 15 points in the win while Mason Blackwood (Aquinas/New Hampton) had 12 and Christian Harmon (Wilson Magnet/Buchtel) 10 points.

Owens hit two 3-pointers and accounted for 13 points during the first half when Rochester grabbed a 55-52 edge.
Ryan Heath (Irondequoit) scored nine points. Tamar Roundtree (Greece Olympia/National Christian Academy) had eight along with Khorie Reaves (Greece Athena) with six and Chris Powell (UPrep) three points.
Albany’s Keyshaun Tiller (New Hampton) hit six 3-pointers including four in the second half and led all scorers with 38 points. Shamiere Green added 19 while Haisi Mayben (Green Tech) and Darien Moore (Catholic Central) had 13 points apiece.
Rochester defeated Syracuse in the semifinals earlier in the day. Albany topped the Finger Lakes squad to reach the championship.
