Colby Wilson connected on a 1-2 pitch in the top of the seventh to plate Evan Brock and break a scoreless tie, as Ely Fagan Post 1151 took game one of the finals. Wilson scored when Kyle VanAuker reached on a fielder’s choice with one out in the frame. Preston Foryt struck out three batters and allowed five hits and no walks over a complete game. The McQuaid graduate retired eight straight hitters starting in the fourth and lasting into the seventh. For Greece Post 468, James Capellupo struck out eight and walked one over a complete game of 1-hit ball. The former Hilton Cadet retired 14 straight starting in the second and lasting until the final out of the sixth. Brody Froman went 2-for-3 with a one-out double in the seventh. Tyler Stack tripled in the first, and Aiden Cook and Jaden Madrid each had a hit.

Bryceton Berry plated Brody Froman and Brian Tisa with a one-out double in the sixth to break a 2-all tie and fuel Greece Post 468 to a win in game two of the 2023 American Legion Baseball District 7 finals. Froman reached on an error with one out in the frame, and Aiden Cook singled on the following at bat, before Tisa took over as a pinch runner. James Capellupo drove home Jaden Madrid with a two-out single to make it 2-0 in the third. Madrid singled to leadoff the frame before stealing second. Gage Wheaton struck out eight batters and gave up three hits over the first 4.1 innings. Jeffrey Broadnax scored Tyler Stack with an RBI-ground-out in the first to open the scoring. Stack doubled on the previous at-bat. TJ Kurtz allowed no hits over 1.1 innings of relief, and Drew Bateman retired the final three batters with the final two by way of strikeout. Froman and Kaleb Juliano each had a hit. For Ely Fagan Post 1151, Connor Nguyen went 1-for-2 with a two-out single to bring home Justin Angora in the fourth. Evan Brock went 2-for-4 with a leadoff double in the seventh, and the Rush-Henrietta High School alumnus struck out one and allowed two earned runs over six innings on the mound. Alex Garcia reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on a wild pitch to tie the game in the sixth. Angora singled to leadoff the fourth.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Greece Athena High School. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
