Justin Angora plated Alex Garcia with a one-out single in the bottom of the fifth as Ely Fagan Post 1151 took game 1 of a best-of-three series in the American Legion Baseball District 7 semifinals. Garcia singled to leadoff the frame before advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt by Caleb Koehler. Chucky Sobaszek reached on a bunt single on the following at-bat. Preston Foryt struck out six batters over four innings of 2-hit ball. Foryt retired the final eight batters he faced. Zach Miner had a strikeout and gave up three hits through 2.2 innings of relief, and Colby Wilson retired the final batter he faced with a runner left on first. Wilson went 2-for-3 in the game. For Braman Post 1229, Caleb Wilson struck out one and allowed five hits over six innings pitched. Aidan Pacatte had a two-out double in the sixth. Patrick Altpeter, Andrew Gleason, Sam Guiffrida and Nate Hill each had a hit. The series continues Saturday with Game 2 scheduled for a 9 AM first pitch at Greece Athena. Game 3 (if necessary) will follow.

NO. 1 GREECE POST 468 (15-0-1) 10 (5 INNINGS)
Jack Cannon went 2-for-3 with three RBI as Greece Post 468 cruised to victory in game 1 of a best-of-three series in the American Legion Baseball District 7 semifinals. Cannon had an RBI-single in the first, an RBI-triple in the third and a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Jaden Madrid went 2-for-3 with a two-run double with one out in the bottom of the fifth to make it 9-0. James Capellupo went 2-for-3 with an RBI-single and a run scored in the third. Zach Allen struck out six and allowed two hits through four innings on the mound. The right-hander retired the final six batters he faced in order. Jeffrey Broadnax plated Tyler Stack with a one-out double in the first to open the scoring. Stack singled in the first and had a sacrifice fly to end the game in the fifth. Drew Bateman retired three of four batters in the fifth. For Rayson Miller Post 899, Ethan Ford and Nate Weber each had a hit. The series continues Saturday with Game 2 at Greece Athena. Game 3 (if necessary) will follow.
