The Rochester Red Wings’ win streak against the Toledo Mud Hens ended Friday night in Toledo, as they fell, 3-2, to the Detroit Tigers affiliate.
Rochester had won three straight against the Mud Hens. For much of the game on Friday, the Red Wings appeared headed to a fourth until a three-run eighth-inning rally with two outs by Toledo shifted the game in the Hens’ favor.

Center fielder Derek Hill hit a solo home run to lead off the third to open the scoring for Rochester, 1-0. The Red Wings wouldn’t score again until the seventh, when second baseman Darren Baker singled home Richie Martin to make it 2-0.
Cory Abbott started the game on the mound and allowed just one hit in five innings, striking out six while working around five walks. Alberto Baldonado and Gabriel Moreno follow with scoreless innings of their own.
Hobie Harris, making his second appearance of the season for Rochester, put down two of the first three Mud Hens in the eighth. Toledo then rattled off three straight hits, including a go-ahead double by Donny Sands, to take the 3-2 lead.
The Red Wings, now 20-27, play Toledo again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Wily Peralta is Rochester’s probable starter.
