The Rochester Red Wings fell to the Norfolk Tides on Saturday, 9-2, in a rain-shortened contest.
The game was called in the bottom of the fifth, making it an official game. It was the third Red Wings game this season affected by the weather and the second impacted on the road.

Norfolk jumped to an early lead with solo home runs by Colton Cowser and Josh Lester in the first and second innings, respectively, and added a third run in the third on a single by Jordan Westburg to make it 3-0. An RBI single by McQuaid graduate Greg Cullen and another home run by Cowser extended Norfolk’s lead to 6-0 in the fourth.
A two-run home run by Derek Hill in the top of the fifth provided the only runs of the game for the Red Wings, narrowing the lead to 6-2. The Tides answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth before the rains became too much for the game to continue.
The Red Wings complete their series at Norfolk on Sunday at 1:05 P.M. Franklyn Kilome is scheduled to start for Rochester.
