Mariah Watkins and Morgan Caraballo led their individual teams to program-first state titles. Kylie Buckley became the all-time leading scorer at her school. The trio are among 71 student-athletes who earned All-State honors as announced on Friday.
Watkins averaged 24.4 points along with 9.6 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 3.2 assists per game for Webster Schroeder and was named to the New York State Class AA First Team. The junior guard earned Tournament MVP honors in leading the Warriors to their first sectional title since 1976 and then a Regional championship as well as NYS Class AA crown. The latter two titles marked firsts for Webster Schroeder Girls’ Basketball. Watkins finished with 12 double-doubles on the season.

Sophomore Bria Watkins joined her older sister on the All-State teams earning a 15th Team nod.
Penfield’s Jackie Funk landed on the Third Team NYS Class AA. Funk averaged 16.9 points per game this past. Bishop Kearney sophomore Amaia Jackson nabbed a Fourth Team nod. Jackson averaged 15.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season.
Caydence Hadley (Bishop Kearney) and Bella Pucci (Fairport) were named to the Sixth Team Class A while Hilton sophomore Mallory Heise earned Seventh Team nod and Ella Meabon (Fairport) a Ninth Team nod.
School of the Arts senior Jazlyn Logan was named to the 13th Team along with Klarissa Goode (Bishop Kearney/16th Team), Maya Williams (School of the Arts/17th Team), Grace Alexander (Penfield/17th) and Hilton’s Ella Clark rounded out the local Class AA selections with a spot in the 17th Team. Sadie Scott (Brighton) and Rhylin Fehrenbach (Victor) earned Honorable Mention.
Canandaigua’s Mya Herman topped the local Class A selections with a spot on the NYS Second Team. Herman shot 43 percent from the floor including 31 percent from beyond the 3-point and averaged 17.4 points per game for a Braves’ squad which reached the state finals for the first time in Canandaigua Girls’ Basketball history. Herman’s teammate Kyleigh Chapman was named to the NYS Class A Seventh Team.
Webster Thomas senior Mady Kelly and Our Lady of Mercy senior Audrey Hintz were named to the Sixth Team. Kelly, who shared Monroe County Division II Player of the Year honors with Herman, averaged 23.9 points per game. Hintz, the Private-Parochial League Division I Co-Player of the Year, scored 14.9 points and grabbed 9.8 rebounds per game.
Churchville-Chili’s Sydney Postell was named to the Eighth Team while Brockport’s Ava Velletri earned a spot on the 10th Team. Pittsford Sutherland teammates Leora Cook and Ellie Bergin were named to the 12th and 13th teams respectively. East High’s Gabriella Brown-Sturdviant was named to the 18th Team. India Williams (Gates Chili) received Honorable Mention.
Caraballo and Buckley were named to the New York State Class B First Team. Caraballo scored 20.2 points per game in spearheading a squad which claimed the first state title in Waterloo Athletics’ history and became just the fourth Section V Girls’ team to win a NYS Federation Tournament of Champions title.
Buckley averaged 25.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game in 2022-23. The Niagara University commit finished with 1,864 career points, tops among both the boys’ and girls’ teams at Livonia. Buckley’s teammate, Libby Kwak, received Class B Honorable Mention.
Caraballo’s teammates, Jazzmyn Lewis and Natalie DiSanto, were named to the Fifth and 13th Teams respectively.
Aquinas sophomore Molly O’Toole joined Lewis on the Fifth Team.
Haley Mosch (Mynderse) was named to the NYS Class B 9th Team. Ajayah Orr (Aquinas) and Jordan Dyring (Hornell) received 11th Team nods. Meredith Czajowski (Haverling) was named to the Class B 12th Team. Anysley Belcher (Dansville) accompanied DiSanto on the 13th Team. Loren Green (Aquinas) and Marianna Hodgins (Palmyra-Macedon) earned 14th Team honors while Chelsie Tyler (Dansville) earned 16th Team. Taryn Goodness (Palmyra-Macedon) and Addison Bree (Waterloo) earned NYS Class B Honorable Mention.
Pavilion senior Lauren Kingsley earned First Team Class C New York State. Kingsley averaged 18.2 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in leading the Golden Gophers to a sectional title and appearance in the NYS Far West Regional. Karlee Zinkievich also represented Pavilion with a spot on the NYS Class C Third Team.
Wayne County rivals Kaylee Marvin (Gananda) and Jayla Bell (Lyons) were named to the NYS Class C Second Team. Amelia McCulley (Notre Dame-Batavia) and Sarina McDowell (Avon) garnered spots on the Fourth Team. Jaida Larsen (Clyde-Savannah) was named to the Fifth Team.
Lily Mullen (Canisteo-Greenwood) earned a spot on the Sixth Team while Kendall Parker (Dundee/Bradford) was named to the Seventh Team. Eva Jenny (Gananda/Eighth Team), Hazell Nickerson (Caledonia-Mumford/Ninth Team), Alyssa Kramer (Alexander/11th), Tessa Rodwell (York/11th), Brooke Burd (Canisteo-Greenwood/12th), Calle McCombs (Bloomfield/12th), Kamryn Bonnell (Lyons/14th) rounded out the NYS Class C selections. Lily Funk (East Rochester), Alea Groff (Oakfield-Alabama) and Caitlyn Ryan (Oakfield-Alabama) received Honorable Mention.
Andover/Whitesville’s Vanessa Hall topped the Class D selections with a Second Team nod. Jessica Prentice (Houghton) and Libby Benner (Keshequa) garnered spots on the NYS Class D Third Team.
Sydney Reilly (Elba/Fourth Team), Alyssa Marsh (Lima Christian/Seventh Team), Natalie Cornell (Jasper-Troupsburg/Eighth Team), Nevaeh Ross (Scio/Friendship/10th) and Mary Hamer (Genesee Valley/Belfast/10th) rounded out the Class D selections. Addison Dillenbeck (Lyndonville), Caitlyn Gilman (Arkport-Canaseraga) and Braelyn Isaman (Keshequa) received Honorable Mention.
