Junior pitcher Madison Hicks went the distance and collected three strikeouts as Webster Thomas notched back-to-back victories. Senior infielder Anna Bello paced the offense with a pair of base knocks. Junior infielder Julia Maciag recorded a hit, walk and two runs scored. For Victor, senior catcher Mekenna Hobson slashed a trio of knocks.

Kaili Witherell mowed down 18 batters among her 21 outs in a one-hitter to lead Haverling to its first win. The sophomore pitcher went 3-of-3 with a double and homer at the dish as well. Eighth-grade first baseman Makayla Smith paced the club with three hits as well and drove in a run. Madison Coots and Caydence Spears both posted a pair of base knocks. Spears romped a double, homer and accumulated five RBI. Coots had a two-bagger among her two hits. Sophomore shortstop Lola Coots collected a base knock and run driven in. For Hornell, Raegan Evingham recorded four strikeouts in four frames of relief.

Four players (Haylee Beesley, Nadya Clingerman, Gwyneth Panek and Emily Plate) drove in at least two runs to ignite Waterloo in the season opener. Clingerman led with a groundout which scored two runs in the fifth inning and a two-run shot one frame later. Clingerman dominated with 15 strikeouts and a complete game on 106 offerings as well. Five of her last six outs were on strikes. Beesley knotted the game in the third inning with a two-run double. Panek applied the coup de grace on a six-run sixth frame with an RBI single. Kennedy Beniamino assisted the cause by finishing a homer shy of the cycle (two singles, a run-scoring double and a triple). Beniamino scored on Panek’s single as well. Logan Amidon and Brynn Rogers both recorded a pair of base knocks. Amidon crossed the plate three times and Rogers twice. Rogers added an RBI as well. For Penn Yan, Gianna Ficcaglia put the Mustangs on the board first with a two-run double in the top of the third inning.

Dundee/Bradford put up six runs in the fifth inning and tallied 12 hits on its way to an 11-5 season-opening victory. Morgan Sutryk, Adalyn Tham and Kailey Yeoman each drove in runs in the frame. The BraveScots fired up the offense in the first inning when Mikayla Schoffner went yard for a two-run homer on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. Addie Kendall tossed four frames, striking out two with no walks on the circle and posted a hit and one run score at the dish. Tham and Korren Yeoman each collected three hits to lead the club. Yeoman swiped three bags as well. Madison Sutryk drew a pair of walks and crossed the plate once. Mykenzie Clancey brought in a pair of runs via a base knock.
CALEDONIA-MUMFORD (2-0) 19
YORK (0-1) 4 (5 INNINGS)
Izzy Cochran, Maddy DeVore and Madison Wyskiel all had three hits in the first inning in which Cakedonia-Mumford erupted for 18 runs. Cochran finished with a home run and six RBI. Wyskiel slapped a team-high four hits. DeVore scored three runs to go along with her trio of base knocks. Senior outfielder Lilly Auger rapped three hits, including a double, and collected three RBI. Avery DeMarco crossed the plate a trio of times. Junior pitcher Emma Years whiffed six batters in a complete game effort and collected two hits at the plate.

Freshman pitcher Keira Weber recorded her first no-hitter with 13 strikeouts as Perry rolled in its season opener. Reagan Moroz secured three hits and a trio of RBI. Peyton Leitten went 2-of-4 at the plate. Aurora Berry had a double with three RBI.

Senior shortstop Alayna Garwood led the way for Northstar driving in four runs on three hits including a home run and triple. Sophomore second baseman Abby Eschner drove in two runs with a four-hit performance including a double.
