Hudson Volpe posted eight of his game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter as Avon rebounded from a slow start to knock off Geneseo in the semifinals for the second straight season. The senior forward grabbed eight rebounds. Josh Harter ignited the Braves with 10 of his 17 points in the second period. The sophomore guard collected five boards as well. Senior guard Lee Hartke added 11 points. Junior guard Michael Rowland finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Avon advances to the sectional final and will take on No. 5 seed Northstar Christian. For Geneseo, senior guard Ethan Bennett led with 17 points. Junior guard Kellen O’Brien followed up with 13 points. Eghosa Okpefe and Ryan Whitney both chipped in 10 points.

Senior guard Cayden Pfalzer followed up his career milestone quarterfinals game with 21 points to guide Pembroke past the semifinals. Tyson Totten scored 14 points following a milestone game as well. Senior center Chase Guzdek finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Junior forward Avery Ferreira chipped in eight points. Senior guard Jon Suro dished out five assists. Pembroke advances to the sectional final and will take on No. 2 seed York. For Bolivar-Richburg, junior guard Aydin Sisson led with 15 points. Senior guard Evan Pinney followed up with 11 points. Sophomore guard Landon Barkley recorded nine points.

Junior forward Jake Pangrazio scored 17 points as York muscled past Oakfield-Alabama in a matchup of reigning sectional champions. Connor Rodwell and Maddox Timothy both netted 16 points. York advances to the sectional final and will take on top-seeded Pembroke. For Oakfield-Alabama, senior guard Kyle Porter led all scorers with 21 points. Noah Currier finished with 16 points. Senior forward Brayden Smith chipped in eight points.

Jaiden Lopez and JC Walker both scored 17 points as Lyons cruised past the semifinals. Lopez ignited the Lions early with 13 first-half points. Lopez converted six shots and three charity stripe conversions. Walker came alive for 15 points after intermission. The senior center netted 6-of-6 free throws and five field goals, including four from inside the arc. Freshman center Jamire Johnson stepped up with all 11 of his points after the first quarter. Lyons advances to the sectional final and will take on No. 6 seed Wheatland-Chili. For Warsaw, junior forward Ty Joy led with 16 points in three periods. Senior center Jake Sawdey had 11 points in three stanzas. Jaden Schwenebraten netted 7-of-8 free throws in the extra period as Wheatland-Chili outscored Byron-Bergen, 12-9, and grinded past the semifinals. The freshman guard finished with 34 points, six behind his career-high. After only scoring two points in the first quarter, Schwenebraten poured in seven points in both the second and third and 11 in the fourth. The 5-foot-9 guard accumulated 11 made field goals, including four from long range. Leighton Williams continued his strong postseason by combining for 12 of his 17 points in the first and third stanzas. The sophomore guard netted eight shots, including seven from inside the arc. Senior guard Terry Bayly-Henshaw ignited the Wildcats with 11 of his 13 points after halftime. Wheatland-Chili advances to the sectional final and will take on top-seeded Lyons. For Byron-Bergen, Braedyn Chambry led five players in double figures with 19 points, including eight in the second quarter. The junior center dropped eight field goals and three free throws. Senior guard Gianni Ferrara sparked the Bees early with 10 of his 15 points in the first half for a 37-21 lead. Ryan Muscarella did the same, dropping 12 of his 14 points in the first 16 minutes of gameplay. David Brumsted and Colin Martin both added 12 points. Cayden Lawson unloaded 31 points, five rebounds, five steals, one assist and one block to lead Jasper-Troupsburg past the semifinals. After scoring three points in the first quarter, the senior guard came alive for seven points in the second, five in the third and 16 in the fourth. In the final stanza, Lawson made two three-pointers and eight free throws. Cash Bouton followed up with all 17 of his points after the opening period on five made field goals and five foul shots. The senior center added six boards, two dimes, a pair of steals and a rejection. Jasper-Troupsburg advances to the sectional final and will take on No. 2 seed Mount Morris. For Elba, Connor Scott and Nicholas Scott combined for 29 points and seven three-pointers. Nicholas Scott led with 15 points and knocked down a trio of long-range shots. Connor Scott netted four deep makes as part of his 14-point output. Senior guard Navier Ford led the way with 17 points, six rebounds and three steals as Mount Morris advanced past the semifinals. Bryson Constantino and Mason Santini each added eight points. Senior forward Payton Bownds had seven points with nine rebounds and five steals. Ben Bacon andAidan Stanley and Ben Bacon each added six points. Bacon dished out five assists as well. Mount Morris advances to the sectional final and will take on top-seeded Jasper-Troupsburg.
Quote from Mount Morris head coach Brian Stout: “We got off to a great start, taking a 22-11 lead into the second quarter. In the second quarter, we got a little cold from the outside and let Andover/Whitesville get half of their points from the free throw line and took a 34-23 lead into the half. Then in the third quarter, we turned up the pressure and got the lead over 20. We had three starters pick up their third fouls and finished the quarter with all five starters on the bench. The second team kept the lead at 20 and the starters never returned.”
