Bethea led with 11 of his 13 points on four makes and three free throws. Taggart connected on 6-of-6 foul shots as part of his 10 points to finish with 27. The senior guard ignited the Inventors with 18 second-half points. Lipscomb rounded out the trio with seven points, including a three-pointer, as he poured in a game-high 30. Jack Kelly and Jake Insley both added five points in the final stanza. Insley tied Schillaci with 15 points as he came alive for nine second-half points. Junior forward Avery Ferreira supplied 12 points. Senior center Chase Guzdek recorded a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Jon Suro dished out five assists. Pembroke advances to the sectional semifinals and will take on No. 5 seed Bolivar-Richburg. For Alexander, sophomore forward Dylan Pohl led with 22 points. Freshman guard Kingston Woods chipped in nine points.

Credit to coach Wayne Hanley and his squad on how they executed their game plan. We were really having a tough time with it. We played much better in the second half. We knew from a young age that Tyson had a chance to be a great player. He and Cayden are some of the hardest workers I have ever been around. He has committed to time in the gym, time in the weight room and camps in the summer and it is paying off. I’m also really proud of him because he has improved his all-around game.
