ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore Tommy Scarfone was named the Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week, Monday in recognition for his efforts in last week’s two-game sweep at Bentley.
Scarfone stopped 58 of 59 total shots faced during the series, including all 29 shots he saw in Friday’s 3-0 victory for his first shutout of the season. He also made 29 saves in Saturday’s 3-1 victory to improve to a league-best 13-4-0 this winter
Recognized for the third time this season and for the fourth time during his career, Scarfone is 11-1-0 with a 1.82 goals against average and a .939 save percentage in 12 Atlantic Hockey games this season.
RIT hosts conference-rival Mercyhurst this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 13-14). Faceoffs are set for 7:05 p.m. and 5:05 p.m., respectively.
