The Warriors used the long ball to open a double-digit lead in the first quarter and then held off Hilton. Mya Perales connected on two of her three 3-pointers in the opening eight minutes while Addison Morgan and Bria Watkins added a triple apiece to give Schroeder (No. 5 NYSSWA Class AA) a 17-5 lead heading to the second stanza. Bria Watkins had six points in the win. Ava Gallup (4), Sarah Ferruzza (3) and Kylie Clement (2) also scored for Schroeder. Mariah Watkins converted 7-of-9 free throws overall including 5-of-6 in the fourth quarter. Hilton’s Leah Thompson scored nine of her team-high 14 points in the second quarter when the Cadets (No. 28 NYSSWA Class AA) used an 11-6 advantage to cut the deficit to single digits heading into halftime. Mallory Heise added 10 points while Ella Clark had nine for Hilton. Karlee Hargarther had five points.

Grace Alexander poured in a career-high 27 points while Jackie Funk scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half as Penfield (No. 17 NYSSWA Class AA) won its sixth straight game. Alexander connected nine times from the floor including four from behind the 3-point line. The duo combined to go 11-of-12 from the free throw line over the final 2:30 of the contest. Emily Fordham, Ashley Kalvitis and Lena Lipani added eight points apiece in the win. Anna Coyle (2) and Emma Scanlon (2) also scored for the Patriots. Fairport’s Ne’vaeh Buntley connected four times from behind the 3-point arc and posted a team-high 20 points. Bella Pucci added 18. Sarah Hirschler scored nine while Ella Meabon and Sophia Lapp added seven apiece for the Red Raiders (No. 8 NYSSWA Class AA).

Ninth-grader Breyelle Geiger added 12 points, five assists, three rebounds and two assists. Nina Pallotta had five assists, three rebounds and three steals. The Silverhawks lost to Wayne in their previous outing.

Payton Bentley had eight points and 11 rebounds. Raegan Evingham accounted for nine points and seven rebounds. Lillian Hoyt chipped in with six points for the Red Raiders. Five different players combined to hit 13 3-pointers. Hornell handed out 20 assists on 32 made field goals. Madison DeVore led Cal-Mum with 19 points and 15 rebounds.
“As good as the offense looked, it again was started with a strong defensive effort,” Hornell head coach Brian Dyring said. “Our girls were very active on the defensive end and extremely unselfish on the offensive end.”

Teammates Taylor Bailey and Madalyn Maville both had two points. Ryleigh Holliday (1) and Camryn Eich (1) also scored.
