Jack Emo (Hornell), Kyle Milburn (Spencerport), Myles Palmer (Fairport) and Mitchell Ward (Fillmore) earned First Team All-State honors as announced by the United Soccer Coaches. The quartet heads a list of 19 Section V Boys’ Soccer players to receive the post-season distinctions.
Milburn and Palmer were named First Team Large School selections. Milburn, the Monroe County Division II Co-Player of the Year and two-time First Team All-County selection, led the Rangers to their first sectional title in more than a decade. The junior attacker and member of the Splinters Sophomore Starting XI scored 21 goals and collected 10 assists this season. He became the all-time leading scorer in Spencerport program history with 44 career goals and 107 points. Milburn is also a two-time Section V All-Tournament team selection.
Palmer, the Monroe County Division I Player of the Year and Fourth Team All-State selection a year ago, finished with 20 goals and seven assists on the season and led Fairport to a divisional title. The Ron Zorn Section V Large School Player of the Year recorded five multi-goal games including four hat tricks. Palmer has twice been named to Section V’s All-Tournament team and was on the 2021 Splinters Junior Starting XI.

Emo, a Second Team Small School All-State selection in 2021, led Hornell to a 15-2-0 mark and top seed in Class B1. The junior midfielder accounted for 25 goals and eight assists. A two-time Livingston County Athletic Association All-League performer, All-Tournament choice and Splinters Sophomore Starting XI selection, Emo helped Hornell 14 straight wins.
Ward set a Fillmore program mark with 47 goals – a single-season total that ranks top five all-time in Section V history to earn the 2022 Jeff Farnsworth Section V Boys’ Soccer Small School Player of the Year (POTY) and led the Eagles to a perfect 23-0-0 mark on the season. The Allegany County Division I Player of the Year also established program marks for career goals (119) and career assists (45). Ward’s career goal total ranks top ten all-time in Section V history. The final tally of his career came in the state final as Fillmore defeated Chazy (VII), 2-0.

Ward scored at least one goal in 22 of Fillmore’s 23 games this season including the lone tally in 1-nil victories over Bolivar-Richburg, Finney and Houghton. He had an assist on the only marker in a 1-0 win over Allegany-Limestone. The senior attacker scored twice and assisted on teammate Layton Sanasith’s golden goal in the Eagles 3-2 win over Greenport in the state semifinal.
Chase Alexandre (Brighton), Cristiano Mounnarat (Penfield), Niyen Ruffin (McQuaid Jesuit) and Ronak Bansal (Pittsford Sutherland) earned Third Team Large School All-State honors. Ruffin garnered RCAC Player of the Year. Bansal was named the top performer in Monroe County Division III.

Brendan Adams (Webster Thomas), who shared Monroe County Division II Player of the Year with Milburn, was named to the Fifth Team while Andrew O’Neil (McQuaid Jesuit) and Ali Shabani (Aquinas) earned Sixth Team Large School recognition.
Lee Hartke (Avon), the Livingston County AA Division II Player of the Year, was named to the Second Team Small School squad. Simon Lamparelli (Attica), the Genesee Region Player of the Year and Landon Berry (Penn Yan), Finger Lakes East’s top player earned Third Team choices.
Maveric McKenzie (Le Roy) and Connor Feehan (Livonia) were named to the Small School All-State Fourth Team while Tyler Harris (Dansville), Jackson McEnerney (Livonia) and Sam Furioso (Bishop Kearney) earned Fifth Team nods. Harris was the Livingston County Division I Player of the Year.
Cody Cavuoto (Hilton) and Keefer Calkins (Haverling) earned First Team Large School and Small School All-State respectively last year when 17 Section V Players earned honors including Large School selections Will Field (Pittsford Sutherland/Second Team), Gaven Egan (Churchville-Chili/Third Team), Josh Bolt (Wayne/Third Team), Palmer, Alec Smith (Hilton/Fourth Team), Shane McMillan (Penfield/Fifth), Jacob Miller (Brockport/Sixth Team) and David Brassie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Sixth). Small School nods in 2021 were earned by Reese Powers (Keshequa/Second Team), Emo, Nick Eustace (Letchworth/Third), Braden Yartym (Haverling/Third), Bryce Hoang (Livonia/Fourth), Ward and Brogan Cotter (Wayland-Cohocton/Fifth).
