CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – Costly fouls and turnovers late in the second-half of the Lakers men’s basketball game against the SUNY Jefferson Cannoneers proved costly Saturday afternoon. The Lakers played host to conference opponent SUNY Jefferson on Saturday, December 3rd on the Putt Moore Court.

A back-and-forth contest went in favor of the Cannoneers who would come out victorious in a 60-54 finale.

The Lakers were led by Jevonte Williams (Rochester, N.Y./ Rush Henrietta) who finished the game with 18 points and a steal. In the scoring column Danny Amador (Naples, F.L./ Palmetto Ridge) came away as the Lakers most efficient shooter at 5-9 from the field (55 percent). Amador finished the afternoon with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals; concluding another strong game for the sophomore guard.

Teammate Alex Hill (Rochester, N.Y./ Fairport) finished with 12 points, three assists, and a rebound and block apiece. Coming off the bench, Juan Navedo (New Britain, C.T./ Cornerstone Charter Academy) added two rebounds, two assists, and a steal to his tally.

The loss drops the Lakers record to 0-9 on the season, with a quick turnaround with a game against the Alfred University JV tomorrow, December 4th at 1 PM. The matchup will serve as an opportunity for the Lakers to earn their first win of the season against the Saxons.
