Khorie Reaves took over the extra stanza with nine of Greece Athena’s 11 points as the Trojans came out on top in the season opener at the Aquinas Institute. This punctuated a second half in which the junior guard poured in 20 of his 26 points. Overall, Reaves netted eight field goals, including seven from inside the arc, and 9-of-12 foul shots. The 6-foot-4 guard added three rebounds, two steals, one assist and a block. Connor Osier scored all 12 of his points in three quarters and hauled down 15 boards. The junior forward dished out five assists, swiped three steals and swatted a trio of shots. Zee Johnson produced eight points, six rebounds, four dimes and a pair of steals. For Webster Schroeder, senior guard Giovanni Schillaci drilled six three-pointers and amassed 23 of his 26 points in the first and third periods. Junior guard Jake Insley chipped in 12 points. Jayon Alexander ignited the offense early with 16 of his team-high 24 points in the first half. Alexander hit 10 field goals and three shots from the charity stripe for a team-high 23 points and grabbed seven boards. Chris Leysath followed up with five shots from inside the arc and 7-of-10 free throws for 22 points. Leysath reeled in 15 rebounds as well. For Franklin, Shawn Goins poured in a game-high 26 points by drilling nine shots, including four from long distance, and 4-of-4 free throws. For Greece Arcadia, Xavier Smith accumulated 10 free throw attempts and converted seven as part of his 15-point output. The sophomore center made four shots inside the arc as well. Ryan Heath finished with a game-high 28 points including the final six of the contest as Irondequoit rallied for the opening night win. The senior guard connected on the go-ahead basket in the closing minute and then converted four straight free throws for the final margin. Quinn Vankerkhove’s late 3-pointer tied the game at 49. The junior connected three times from distance as part of an 11-point effort and drew a charge with 12.5 seconds remaining to secure the win. Heath scored 11 in the first quarter to spark Irondequoit to a 19-6 lead. Xavier Gissendanner had 11 points for the Eagles. Isaiah Ballard (4) and Kenyen Lovett (1) contributed to the offense. Sutherland used an 11-4 run late in the third quarter to cut Irondequoit’s lead to three. Sam Pisanelli converted a pair of free throws to give the Knights their first lead with just over three minutes remaining in the contest. Everett Wilcox followed with a bucket for a 49-46 Sutherland edge. Pisanelli and Max Michalski scored 14 points apiece to lead Sutherland. Dutch Pestorius and Wilcox both finished with six points. Luke Fliss (5) and Chandler Reynolds (4) also scored for Sutherland.

Abbott led with 22 of his 27 points in the first and third quarters and poured in 12 field goals. The senior forward added six steals and five assists. Putnam recorded crooked numbers in the odd stanzas as well with 19 of his 23 points. The junior guard split his eight makes from inside and outside the perimeter and added three free throws. Putnam had six assists and five steals. Sawyer DeVoe ignited the Vikings early with 15 of his 17 points in the first half. The junior forward grabbed 11 rebounds, swiped 11 steals and dished out six assists. For Campbell-Savona, Jackson Kibler, Ethan Ribble and Blake Ryan all led scored six points.
