Gary Pollock garnered induction to the New York State Boys’ Soccer Hall of Fame during an on-field ceremony of the recent state semifinals at Middletown High School.

A graduate of Greece Arcadia, Pollock has served as Section V Boys’ Soccer Coordinator since 2006.

The former head coach at Kendall High School, Pollock led the Eagles to a pair of Section V titles in his 14 years at the helm. He was tabbed Section V Coach of the Year on four occasions and was named the NYS and East Region Division II Coach of the Year at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA/now known as the United Soccer Coaches) convention. Pollock served as Genesee Region Coordinator for 13 years before assuming his current role.

After leaving Kendall, Pollock served as an assistant at Gates Chili and helped the Spartans to the 2003 NYS Class A title (one of four straight championships of the largest classification in the state won or shared by a Section V squad – Penfield shared the 2001 title before winning outright in 2002 and 2004).

Pollock was inducted in the 2022 class along with Section VI coordinator Todd Marquardt and longtime Fayetteville-Manlius (III) head coach Jeff Hammond.

Marquardt led his alma mater Kenmore West to sectional titles in 1994 and 2006. He garnered Frontier League Coach of the Year three times and Section VI Coach of the Year one time.

Hammond won 481 games over a 32-year career at F-M that included 23 league titles and 13 Section III championships. He was named League Coach of the Year on 21 occasions and Section III Coach of the Year six times.
