Luke Tytler ignited Bishop Kearney/Chesterton to a position only five other Section V teams advanced to: the state tournament qualifiers.
The senior midfielder was named the Player of the Year as announced by Private-Parochial coaches.
During the Kings’ sectional title run, Tytler spearheaded an offense which averaged 3.9 goals per game by pacing the squad in assists (17) along with adding 11 goals. The senior midfielder was one of six players in the entire Rochester area to tally 17-plus assists and led the Private-Parochial League with his 39 points. Tytler’s points total ranked tied for 23rd in Section V as well.
Tytler tallied multiple assists in five games, including a season-high four twice: on September 8th in an 8-0 victory over Bradford/Dundee and October 3rd in a 7-0 victory over Charles G. Finney. In the win over Bradford/Dundee, the senior midfielder netted a pair of goals for one of his four multi-score performances. Tytler’s other multi-assist matches occurred on September 15th in an 8-1 victory over Rochester Prep/Vertus/Rochester Academy, October 1st in an 8-0 victory over World Of Inquiry/Edison Tech/Franklin/School Of The Arts and in a 2-1 victory over Penn Yan in the sectional final when he supplied two helpers.

Tytler’s contests in which he buried numerous goals included a hat trick on September 13th in a 5-0 win at Greece Olympia. The senior midfielder found the back of the net in back-to-back games against Northstar Christian and Charles G. Finney on September 22nd and September 24th as well.
Tytler contributed in sectionals with four assists. Overall, the senior midfielder led the Kings to a 16-2-1 record, the top seed in class B2 and the sectional title.
Teammates Josh Baraka, Sam Furioso, Aidan Kharroubi and Calvin Kron joined Tytler on the All-League First Team. Kharroubi paced the Kings with 13 goals and finished right behind Tytler with 10 assists, both of which ranked second in the Private-Parochial League. Baraka was one of four squad members with double-digit goals, reeling off 10. Furioso accumulated 1,249 minutes in goal and pitched 13 shutouts. Kron paced the Kings’ defensive backline and added one assist offensively.
LJ Gleason, Ali Shabani, Charlie Sorensen and Allfonso Vito made the First Team for Aquinas. Vito led the Li’l Irish with 10 goals and shared four assists. Gleason amassed 126 saves in 1,505 minutes in goal and pitched eight shutouts. Shabani dished out four assists as well to go along with six tallies. Sorensen balanced out the midfield with two assists and a goal.
Octavio Gefell, Jadon Maus and Nick Pasquentonio represented Charles G. Finney on the First Team. Gefell conducted the Falcons with seven goals and two assists. Maus collected five saves in 80 minutes in goal. Pasquentonio led a Falcons’ defense which pitched four shutouts and allowed one goal or less nine times.
Lorenzo Danesi and Trevor Nasso were named on the First Team for Northstar Christian. Danesi led the entire Private-Parochial League in scoring with 15 goals and distributed eight assists. Nasso pitched one shutout and held opponents to two goals or less on 15 occasions as a goalkeeper.
Antonio Rodriguez rounded out the Private-Parochial All-League First Team for Rochester Prep/Vertus/Rochester Academy. The senior goalkeeper held opponents to two goals or less four times.
