Megan Fry lifted her team to a sectional title. Wrianna Hudson and Delaney Tellex led their respective squads to the sectional semifinals. Maria Karipidis guided Honeoye Falls-Lima to being one of 10 Monroe County teams with double-digit victories.
The three seniors and junior were named the Players of the Year as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Tellex accounted for 43 percent of Penfield’s offense as she scored 15 of the team’s 35 goals and led the squad in assists (four) to earn Division I Player of the Year honors. The senior midfielder was one of 12 players in Monroe County to tally 15-plus goals, including tied for the most among Division I individuals.
Tellex recorded a trio of multi-goal games, including a four-goal outburst on September 20th in a 4-1 victory at Rush-Henrietta. The senior midfielder’s other multi-goal performances occurred on September 1st in a 5-2 victory over Grand Island (VI) and September 24th in a 4-1 victory over Rush-Henrietta when she found the back of the net twice.
Tellex led the Patriots to an 11-4-1 record, a Monroe County Division I title and the top seed in class AA.
Teammates Grace Alexander, Emily Hach and Alice Marchese joined Tellex on the Division I All-County Team. The duo of Alexander and Marchese both posted four goals and three assists. Hach contributed to a backline which held its opponents to 20 goals in 16 contests. The Patriots’ defense only allowed one goal or less 11 times as well.
Izzy Alexandre, Maggie Cregan and Pauny Khounpachamsy were named on the Division I First Team for Brighton. Cregan tied Tellex for the most goals in Monroe County Division I with 15 while spreading out six assists for a total of 36 points. Alexandre scored 10 goals, which was second on the Bruins, and chipped in a trio of helpers. Khounpachamsy found the back of the net on seven occasions and applied one assist.

Alyssa Andracki and Cameran Eccleston represented Hilton on the Division I First Team. Andracki collected two goals and an assist. Eccleston spearheaded a Cadets’ defense which pitched six shutouts and held opponents to one goal or less in 11 of their 19 games.
Emily Neenan and Ava Zaccour made the Division I First Team for Victor. Neenan recorded four assists as a midfielder. Zaccour guided a Blue Devils’ defense which pitched six shutouts and held opponents to one goal or less in 13 of their 17 games.
Brigid Mulholland and Isabella Pucci joined the Division I First Team from Fairport. Pucci paced the Red Raiders’ offense with eight goals and a trio of assists. Mulholland amassed 140 saves in 1,176 minutes in goal and pitched four shutouts.
Avery Roberts (Rush-Henrietta) rounded out the Division I First Team. The senior midfielder guided the Royal Comets with 17 points via seven assists and five goals.
Fry spearheaded a Warriors’ defense which held its opponents to six goals in 20 games by keeping her head on a swivel as a goalkeeper to earn Division II Player of the Year. The senior netminder paced the backline with 141 saves (26th in Section V) and four goals conceded in 1,533 minutes (fifth in Section V) this season. Her 97.2 save percentage ranked fourth in the entire Rochester area as well.
Fry recorded 15 shutouts, including streaks of six straight (between September 6th and September 20th), four straight (between September 28th and October 6th) and three straight (sectionals). During those three streaks, the Warriors outscored their opposition, 25-0, while the senior goalkeeper amassed 91 stops. Fry posted a season-high 12 saves twice: September 14th in a 1-0 victory at Webster Thomas and September 20th in a scoreless tie with Spencerport.
In sectionals, Fry compiled 21 saves in 240 shutout minutes. In the sectional semifinals, the senior goalkeeper notched nine stops to preserve a 2-0 victory over Brighton.
Overall, Fry led the Warriors to a 14-3-3 record, the No. 2 seed in class AA and the sectional title.
Teammates Abby Herbst, Maddie Peterson and Sasha Zilist joined Fry on the Division II All-County Team. Herbst led the Warriors’ offense with 10 goals and four assists to total 24 points. Zilist balanced out the midfield with three assists and a pair of tallies. Peterson contributed to the stingy defensive backline and chipped in two helpers and one goal offensively.
Cate Burns, Lindsay Lenhard and Kendall Mesh made the Division II First Team for Spencerport. Lenhard is currently tied for 20th in Section V and second in Monroe County with 52 points (19 goals and 14 assists). Her 19 goals rank tied for fifth in the county while her 14 assists are the most. Burns ranks eighth in the Rochester area in save percentage (92.2) and 17th in minutes played (1,398) along with her 107 saves in goal. Mesh has commandeered the Rangers’ defense which has assisted Burns in pitching 12 shutouts while adding three goals offensively.
Isa Lavrynenko and Catherine Rogers represented Webster Thomas on the Division II First Team. Rogers amassed 38 points and 16 goals, both of which placed her ninth in Monroe County. Lavrynenko guided a Titans’ defense which pitched seven shutouts and allowed one goal or less 13 times.
Amelia Breton and Emily McCane made the Division II First Team for Churchville-Chili. Breton’s 39 points and 17 goals catapulted her to tied for seventh and sixth place in Monroe County, respectively. McCane was one of 14 goalkeepers in the entire Rochester area to tally 163-plus saves, one of seven players to defend the post for 1,486-plus minutes and one of 15 individuals to record a 90.6 save percentage or higher. The senior goalkeeper pitched eight shutouts as well.
Payton Malec and Ellie Teerlinck made the Division II First Team for Canandaigua. Teerlinck paced the Braves with four goals and one assist. Malec summed 146 saves (No. 22 in Section V) in 1,320 minutes in goal (tied for No. 26) and an 85.9 save percentage. The junior goalkeeper pitched a pair of shutouts as well.
Sam Cipolla (Gates-Chili) rounded out the Division II First Team. The junior forward accounted for 66.7 percent of the Spartans’ offense as she 20 scored of the team’s 30 goals and chipped in three assists. Cipolla finished third in Monroe County in scoring and fifth in points with 43.
Division III Player of the Year, Hudson, was one of Section V’s leading scorers this season. The junior midfielder netted 32 goals (tied for eighth), stockpiled 72 points (tied for 10th) and garnered seven assists in 18 games played.
Hudson recorded 11 multi-goal games, including a four-goal outburst on September 12th in a 4-2 victory at Brockport. In that matchup, the junior midfielder found the back of the net twice in each half. Hudson assembled five hat tricks as well: September 6th in a 4-2 victory at Pittsford Sutherland, September 20th in a 4-0 victory at Greece Arcadia, September 30th in a 3-0 victory over Brockport, October 8th in a 3-2 victory over Penfield and in a 5-1 victory over Gates-Chili in the first round of sectionals.
Finally, the junior midfielder’s two-goal performances occurred on August 31st in a 4-0 win over Greece Arcadia, September 2nd in a 4-2 win at Brighton, September 28th in a 2-1 win over Pittsford Sutherland, October 12th in a 3-1 win over Irondequoit and in a 2-1 overtime victory over Pittsford Sutherland in the sectional quarterfinals. In the sectional quarterfinals, Hudson buried the game-winner at the 13:42 mark of second overtime. The junior midfielder provided all of the Trojans’ offense in sectionals as well with five goals and a pair of assists.
Overall, Hudson led the Trojans to a 12-5-1 record, the No. 3 seed in class A and the sectional semifinals.
Teammates Kate Rayburn and Julia Russo joined Hudson on the Division III All-County Team. The sophomore defender duo stabilized a Trojans’ backline which pitched four shutouts and held its opponents to one goal or less on nine occasions. Rayburn and Russo combined to collect five assists offensively as well.
Elena Barr, Rachel Lee, Bridget Merkel and Leah Shaffer made Division III First Team for Pittsford Mendon. Similar to Hudson, Merkel was one of 27 players in the entire Rochester area to tally 20-plus goals. The senior midfielder was one of 26 individuals to stockpile 50-plus points as well. Lee finished second on the Vikings in both goals (eight) and assists (seven). Barr paced the team with eight helpers and supplied six goals. Shaffer compiled 74 saves in 1,221 minutes in goal and pitched nine shutouts.
Kayla Heister and Maeve Steckley earned Division III First Team honors for Irondequoit. Steckley catapulted 17 goals to place tied for sixth in Monroe County and racked up 39 points to finish tied for seventh. Heister led the Eagles with eight assists plus a trio of tallies.
Cameron Burbano and Nadia Nealon were named on the Division III First Team for Brockport. Nealon paced the Blue Devils with seven goals while chipping in a pair of helpers. Burbano rounded out a defensive backline which pitched seven shutouts and held its opponents to one goal or less 12 times.
Allie Finkbeiner and Meghan Joerger represented Pittsford Sutherland on the Division III First Team. The midfielder duo both summed 17 points. Joerger led the way with six goals and five assists while Finkbeiner finished with seven helpers and five scores.
Ava Taylor (Greece Arcadia) rounded out the Division III First Team. The senior defender balanced out a Titans’ backline which pitched a pair of shutouts.
Karipidis collected Division IV Player of the Year honors. The Cougars finished with a 10-4-2 record and the senior midfielder played a large part with 16 goals (tied for ninth in Monroe County) and four assists. Karipidis’s 36 points placed her tied for 10th in the county as well.
Karipidis recorded five multi-goal games, including a four-goal output on September 10th in a 5-3 victory at Wayne. In that matchup, the senior forward netted a second-half hat trick, including back-to-back goals in a three-minute span right after halftime to give the Cougars a 4-2 lead they didn’t relinquish. Karipidis assembled a pair of hat tricks as well: September 12th in a 6-0 victory over Greece Arcadia and September 19th in a 4-1 victory over Greece Olympia. Finally, the senior midfielder’s two-goal performances occurred on September 24th in a 2-all tie with Batavia and September 28th in a 2-1 win at Greece Olympia.
Overall, Karipidis led the Cougars to the No. 6 seed in class A.
Teammates Kyleigh Dudley, Emily White and Izabela Woloszuk joined Karipidis on the Division IV All-County Team. Woloszuk finished right behind Karipidis with nine goals and conducted the Cougars with nine assists. White amassed 108 saves in 1,253 minutes in goal and pitched a trio of shutouts. Dudley assisted White as a defender and contributed three assists plus one goal offensively.
Julia Petry, Alyssa Turner, Anna Varland and Isabella Walsh made the Division IV First Team for Batavia. Similar to Steckley, Varland totaled 17 goals and added one more assist for 40 points. Petry converted 100 saves in 1,357 minutes in goal and pitched three shutouts. Turner balanced out the midfield with two goals and a pair of assists. Walsh contributed to the defensive backline and chipped in one tally and another helper.
Jadyn Falco, Hannah Roxstrom and Sarah Tawaf earned Division IV First Team honors for Greece Olympia. Tawaf topped nine goals, which was second on the Spartans, and four assists. Falco notched four goals and two assists. Roxstrom was part of a Spartans’ defense which pitched three shutouts and held the opponents to one goal or less six times.

Adelina Topovcic and Ekemini Udofa made the Division IV First Team for Greece Odyssey. Udofa accounted for 69 percent of the Leopards’ offense as she scored 25 (tied for 13th in Section V) of the team’s 36 goals and consummated 51 points (tied for 23rd in Section V). Topovcic and the Leopards’ defense held the opposition to two goals or less five times.
Nevaeh Bunch (Eastridge) rounded out the Division IV First Team. Bunch paced the Lancers with 10 goals and 21 points.
