Kyle Milburn lifted his team to a sectional title. Brendan Adams, William Buttino and Myles Palmer led their respective squads to the sectional semifinals. Ronak Bansal ignited Pittsford Sutherland to the sectional final.
The four seniors and junior were named the Player of the Year for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County Soccer coaches.
Palmer accounted for 40 percent of Fairport’s offense as he scored 20 of the team’s 50 goals and was second on the squad in assists (seven) to earn Division I Player of the Year honors. The senior forward was one of 10 players in the entire Rochester area to tally 20-plus goals, including second-most among Monroe County individuals.
Palmer recorded five multi-goal games, including four hat tricks: September 1st in a 4-1 victory over Victor, September 13th in a 4-0 victory over Rush-Henrietta, October 3rd in a 4-0 victory at Brighton and October 7th in a 5-1 victory over Rush-Henrietta. In all four matches in which he posted a hat trick, the senior forward accomplished the feat in a single half, including in a six-minute span of the first period against Brighton. He contributed in sectionals as well with one goal and an assist in a 6-0 quarterfinals victory over Victor.
Palmer led the Red Raiders to a 12-3-1 record, a Monroe County Division I title and the No. 2 seed in class AA.
Teammates Paul Murgoci, Jordan Robinson, Nathaniel Russo and Benjamin Teasdale joined Palmer on the Division I All-County Team. Murgoci posted 14 goals, which was second on the Red Raiders, and a team-high 13 assists. Robinson collected five goals and three assists as an attacker. Russo paced the defense with 57 saves in 1,043 minutes in goal and pitched five shutouts. Teasdale contributed to a backline which held its opponents to 18 goals in 16 contests and added three assists on offense. The Red Raiders’ defense only allowed one goal or less 11 times as well.
Cristiano Mounnarat, Zach Shores and Jack Walsh were named on the Division I First Team for Penfield. Mounnarat spread out seven assists to go along with four goals. Walsh scored four goals as well and chipped in three assists. Walsh contributed to a Patriots’ offense which tallied 29 goals in 15 games. The Patriots netted multiple goals nine times as well.
Johnny Bianchi and Luca Dodge represented Hilton on the Division I First Team. Bianchi found the back of the net on 11 occasions and applied a trio of helpers. Dodge collected four goals and four assists.
Thomas Gravino and Paxton Marshall made the Division I First Team for Victor. The senior defender duo both scored three goals and combined for five assists. Gravino and Marshall spearheaded a Blue Devils’ defense which pitched six shutouts and held opponents to one goal or less in 10 of their 18 games.
Chase Alexandre (Brighton) and Thomas Proctor (Rush-Henrietta) rounded out the Division I First Team. Alexandre accumulated 18 goals and four assists in 19 contests played. Proctor amassed 140 saves in 1,259 minutes in goal and pitched four shutouts.
Adams (Webster Thomas) and Milburn (Spencerport) were named the Division II Co-Players of the Year. Milburn ignited the Rangers to a position only seven other Section V teams currently reside: the state semifinals. Along the way, the junior forward has spearheaded an offense averaging 2.9 goals per game by pacing the squad in goals (21) and assists (10). Similar to Palmer, Milburn is one of 10 players in the entire Rochester area to tally 20-plus goals, but led Monroe County with his 21 tallies and 52 total points. Milburn’s points total ranks ninth in Section V as well.
Milburn has recorded six multi-goal games, including a hat trick on October 8th in a 4-2 win over Victor. The junior forward’s other multi-goal performances occurred on September 1st in a 2-0 victory at Webster Schroeder, September 29th in a 3-0 victory over Webster Thomas, October 11th in a 6-0 victory at Gates-Chili, October 13th in a 2-1 victory at Fairport and on October 25th in a 4-0 sectional quarterfinals victory over Greece Arcadia when he found the back of the net twice.
Milburn has contributed in the postseason as well with five goals and four assists for 14 points in five matches. The junior forward’s postseason highlights include burying the lone goal in the 77th minute of the sectional semifinals against Webster Thomas and accounting for both of the Rangers’ goals in the sectional final with an assist to Andrew Wiebeld plus a tally of his own.
Overall, Milburn has led the Rangers to a 16-4-1 record, the No. 3 seed in class A, the sectional title and being the Far West Regional representative in the state tournament.
Teammate Joey Weaver joined Milburn on the Division II All-County Team. The senior forward accumulated a team-high 12 assists to go along with his one goal.
Adams spearheaded a Titans’ defense which held its opponents to 14 goals in 18 games and pitched seven shutouts, including five straight after the season opener. The shutout streak spanned a total game time of 440 minutes or 11 halves and the Titans outscored their opposition, 9-0. The senior defender and the rest of the backline only conceded three goals once, two goals twice and one goal eight times as well.
Adams contributed offensively with three goals and one assist. His tallies occurred on September 9th in a 3-0 victory over Gates-Chili, October 13th in a 3-2 victory at Penfield and in the first round of sectionals in a 5-1 victory over Brockport.
Overall, Adams led the Titans to a 13-4-1 record and the No. 2 seed in class A.
Teammates Cole Hastings, Cory Jarvis and Jason Riek joined Adams on the Division II All-County Team. Jarvis led the Titans in goals (10) and assists (six). Hastings was part of the defensive backline and added four goals and three assists. Riek amassed 85 saves in 1,355 minutes in goal
Elijah Bailey, Quinn Hoak and Jaden Sanza made the Division II First Team for Churchville-Chili. Sanza compiled seven goals and four assists. Bailey and Hoak commandeered a Saints’ defense which held opponents to 19 goals in 17 matches and pitched eight shutouts. The defender duo combined for two goals and one assist as well.
Tyler Drew and Alejandro Pena represented Webster Schroeder on the Division II First Team. Drew amassed 100 saves in 1,195 minutes in goal and pitched five shutouts. Pena led the Warriors with five helpers along with one goal.
Giovanni Buonomo and Sebastian Guerrero made the Division II First Team for Gates-Chili. Guerrero finished with nine goals and five assists to pace the Spartans. Buonomo tied with Guerrero with five assists and tallied seven goals.
Zane Mullally (Canandaigua) rounded out the Division II First Team. The senior attacker stepped up to lead the Braves with 10 goals and four assists in 17 games.
Bansal marshaled a Knights’ defense which held its opponents to 16 goals in 20 games and pitched 10 shutouts, including streaks of four straight (between September 7th and September 15th) and three straight (between the regular season finale and the sectional quarterfinals). During those two streaks, the Knights outscored their opposition, 20-0. The senior defender and the rest of the backline only conceded three goals twice, two goals twice and one goal six times as well.
Bansal contributed offensively with one assist on October 7th in a 7-1 victory at Brockport.
Overall, Bansal led the Knights to a 15-4-1 record, the Monroe County Division III title, the No. 4 seed in class A and runner-up in sectionals.
Teammates Will Hanford, Thomas Kwon and Devon Rashid joined Bansal on the Division III All-County Team. The midfielder trio accounted for 64 percent of the Knights’ offense as they combined for 35 of the team’s 55 goals. Hanford led the way with 13 goals and five assists. Kwon finished right behind Handford with 12 goals and added seven assists. Rashid rounded out the trio with 10 tallies plus a team-high 13 assists (sixth in Monroe County).

Aiden Ambeau, Matt Gentile and Julian Montagliano made Division III First Team for Greece Athena. Montagliano accumulated 16 goals (fourth in Monroe County) and two assists for 34 points (fifth in Monroe County). Ambeau contributed four goals and an assist. Gentile rounded out a Trojans’ defense which pitched five shutouts and allowed one goal or less on 10 occasions.
Kee Bu Soy and Carson Englert earned Division III First Team honors for Greece Arcadia. Soy led the Titans with eight goals and contributed a trio of helpers. Englert captained a Titans’ defense which pitched nine shutouts and allowed one goal or less 12 times.
Bailey Connor and Michael Wood were named on the Division III First Team for Irondequoit. Connor conducted the midfield with seven scores and five helpers. Wood was part of the Eagles’ backline rotation while chipping in a pair of goals. The senior defender contributed in Tom Gillett’s squad pitching six shutout victories.
Luke Westervelt and Matthew Woods represented Pittsford Mendon on the Division III First Team. Woods recorded team-highs of five goals and five assists as an attacker. Westervelt chipped in three assists plus a tally.
Will Hawken (Brockport) rounded out the Division III First Team. The sophomore forward led the Blue Devils with eight goals and a trio of helpers.
Buttino collected Division IV Player of the Year honors. Greece Olympia advanced to the sectional semifinals and the senior attacker played a large part with 12 goals and 13 assists. Buttino’s 37 points were fifth in Monroe County.
Buttino recorded a trio of multi-goal games, including a hat trick on August 30th in a 6-2 victory at Waterloo. In that matchup, the senior attacker netted two of his three goals in the first half and handed out three assists. Buttino’s two-goal performances occurred on September 19th in a 5-1 victory over Wilson Magnet and September 27th in a 2-0 victory at Batavia. The senior forward contributed in sectionals as well with one goal and an assist in a 3-0 quarterfinals victory over Newark.
Overall, Buttino led the Spartans to an 11-7-0 record, the No. 4 seed in class B1 and the sectional semifinals.
Teammates Dylan Mattice, Mohamed Mohamed and Josh Palmgreen joined Buttino on the Division IV All-County Team. Mohamed tied Buttino with 12 goals and chipped in a pair of assists. Mattice compiled 107 saves in 1,382 minutes in goal and pitched three shutouts. Palmgreen paced the Spartans with eight assists and found the back of the net three times.
Madut Mathuc, Aidan Neenan and Zachary Zollo made the Division IV First Team for Honeoye Falls-Lima. Mathuc posted a team-high six goals plus a pair of helpers. Zollo contributed six assists to lead the Cougars and added two goals. Neenan was part of a defense which pitched four shutouts and allowed two goals or less 11 times.

Paul Lombardo, AJ Rebis and Anthony Tudisco earned Division IV First Team honors for Greece Odyssey. Tudisco scored seven of the Leopards’ 19 goals and tallied two of the team’s 13 assists. Rebis contributed four goals as a defender. Lombardo rounded out the Leopards’ midfield.
Owen Halpin (Batavia) rounded out the Division IV First Team. The junior midfielder led the Blue Devils with seven goals and five assists.
