Top seeds will battle it out for the 2022 Section V Class B Football championship when Batavia and Monroe take the gridiron on Saturday. Here’s what you need to know:

How they arrived here: Batavia got a shutout win over No. 8 Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton, 35-0 before beating No. 4 Livonia 56-14 in the semifinals. Monroe opened with a 16-0 win over No. 7 Geneva and outlasted No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima, 12-7.

History 101: Batavia is looking to repeat as Class B champions. The Blue Devils have claimed five titles in the last eight years, including a three-peat from 2014 to 2016. Monroe is seeking its first section title since 1979 when the Red Jackets won the Class A crown.
What’s next: The winner will go on to play Section VI champion Iroquois in the Far West Regional.
A 6 P.M. kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at SUNY Brockport.
