Top-seeded teams in Class A1 will face off with title aspirations looming. Here’s what you need to know:

How they arrived here: Webster Schroeder shut out No. 5 Greece Olympia/Odyssey, 49-0 and clinched a spot in the Class A1 finals with a 35-14 win over No. 5 Churchville-Chili. Hilton earned victories over No. 7 Gates Chili (45-14) and No. 3 Brighton (28-7).

Last meeting: Webster Schroeder defeated Hilton in the first game of the season 21-14 on September 2nd.
History 101: Webster Schroeder has won four Class AA championships (’77, ’02, ’03 and ’09). Webster High School also won in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Hilton last won a sectional title in 1994 as part of Class BB.

- Taking care of the football – Webster Schroeder is “27-3 in the last 30 games when we were even or positive in the turnover battle.”
- Rally to the football and be sound tacklers – “Teams need to be able to tackle well in November to be successful.”

What’s next: The winner will advance to regionals with the opponent to be determined. Section V will have two Class A representatives in the New York State tournament. The Class A1 and A2 champions both advance. The team with the most points in the sectional index will advance to the Far West Regional against the Section VI champion either Jamestown or Williamsville North. The at-large representative (team with a lower sectional index) will play the Section II winner.
A 5 p.m. kickoff is scheduled for Friday at Fairport High School.
