Eight schools claimed sectional championships during the recent playoffs. Section V Girls’ Soccer acknowledged the student-athletes that led those teams and more with the 2022 All-Tournament Teams.
Webster Schroeder won its first title since taking back-to-back crowns in 2018 and 2019. Megan Fry backstopped a Warriors’ defense that did not allow a goal in three victories on the way to the championship. Fry and three teammates highlighted the Class AA All-Tournament team.
Abby Herbst scored five of Schroeder’s eight goals in sectionals to also earn a spot on the AA team. Alyssa Doody had three goals and an assist. Sasha Zillist finished with three assists in the postseason.
Sectional finalist Hilton placed three players on the AA All-Tournament team: Alyssa Andracki, Sierra Bianchi and Cameran Eccleston.
Penfield’s Emily Fordham and Delaney Tellex earned all-tournament honors along with Finn Cregan (Brighton), Olivia Rush (Brighton), Ava Lattimer (Victor), Brigid Mullholland (Fairport) and Avery Roberts (Rush-Henrietta).
Spencerport’s Cate Burns, Jamie Keens, Lindsay Lenhard and Liana Tata highlighted the Class A team. Burns registered shutouts in all four of the Rangers’ victories on the way to a seventh straight championship. Burns finished with 18 saves in sectional action.

During the semifinals, Keens drew the assignment of marking the Monroe County League’s leading scorer in Greece Athena’s Wrianna Hudson. Lenhard finished with four goals and four assists in the run. Tata also accounted for four goals.
Olivia Hogan, Hannalee Hotaling and Addison McDonough represented Class A finalist Churchville-Chili on the All-Tournament team. Bridget Merkel and Leah Shaffer from top-seeded Pittsford Mendon earned the postseason honor along with Hudson and Julia Russo from Athena.
Caroline D’Anza (Our Lady of Mercy), Allie Finkbeiner (Pittsford Sutherland), Catherine Rogers (Webster Thomas) and Maeve Steckley (Irondequoit) rounded out the Class A team.
Clare Boesel, Maya Ikewood, Taryn Goodness and Molly Seither led Palmyra-Macedon to a second straight sectional title and landed spots on the Class B1 All-Tournament in doing so.
Ikewood connected on all five of Pal-Mac’s goals in the Red Raiders three wins during the postseason. Boesel made 17 saves and allowed one goal over the three contests. Seither had one assist in the postseason and along with Goodness was part of midfield and defense that limited the scoring chances of opponents.

Hanna Fenton, Mya Kotsch and Emily Silverstein from finalist Aquinas earned spots on the team. Fenton and Kotsch had a goal and two assists apiece in the postseason. Silverstein finished with three goals and an assist.
Batavia teammates Ella Radley and Alyssa Turner both were named to the B1 All-Tournament Team along with MaKayla Pribanich (Livonia), Hannah Weldy (Livonia), Natalie Budgar (Geneva), Mary Givens (Midlakes), Bailey Rossignol (Waterloo) and Hannah Roxstrom (Greece Olympia).
A quartet of Haverling Rams headed up the Class B2 team. Natalie Krelie, Keegan Smith, Kelsey Thorp and Ella Yartym led Haverling to its third straight sectional title. Yartym amassed seven goals and two assists in three sectional wins.
Smith found the back of the net five times including twice in a 3-2 win over Hornell in the B2 championship game. The junior also had two assists in sectionals. Krelie added two assists in sectionals while Thorp helped a Haverling backline that limited opponents to three goals in sectionals.
Allyson Buckley, Ireland Harrison and Madison Reudenauer represented B2 finalist Hornell on the All-Tournament team. Madison Dambra and Lindsey Steffenilla helped Le Roy to a semifinal and earned all-tournament honors along with Kelly Kohberger and Ella Wirth of Mynderse as the Blue Devils also reached the semis.
Morgan Andersen (Penn Yan), Tori Cooper (North Rose-Wolcott), Ellie Mountzouros (Dansville) and Skylar Savage (Attica) rounded out the B2 team.
Twin sisters Nicole Cruz and Nyah Cruz along with teammates Izzie Hoffman and Lyndsey Valletta helped Gananda to its first sectional championship. Nicole Cruz connected twice in the Blue Panthers 3-1 win over Holley in the sectional final. The junior finished with four goals in the title run.
Hoffman collected seven goals and four assists in the postseason. Nyah Cruz and Valletta were part of a Gananda defense which limited opponents to one goal in sectionals. Valletta made 16 saves.

Samantha Bates, Jailyn Bishop and Emma Brady all led Holley to the C1 final and earned spots on the team. Bridget McMaster with Geneseo teammate Maddie Mark helped the Blue Devils to the semifinals as did Aurora Woodworth and Zoelle Payne of Marcus Whitman. The four also garnered all-tournament honors.
Sydney Boyd (York/Pavilion), Kerrigan Driskell (Addison), Anna Henner (Williamson) and Kylie Williamson (Canisteo-Greenwood) completed the C1 All-Tournament Team.
Byron-Bergen’s Mia Gray, Mackenzie Hagen, Emma Starowitz and Ava Wagoner highlight the Class C2 All-Tournament team. Gray accumulated 10 goals and three assists to pace a Bees’ offense which outscored opponents 27-0 in four sectional wins.
Hagen added five goals and four assists. Starowitz finished with two goals and seven assists. Wagoner, a center back, supported a Byron-Bergen defense that has posted 18 shutouts on the season.
Grace Braselton, Alison Farrell and Chyene Whitcomb helped Wheatland-Chili to the C2 finals and landed spots on the All-Tournament Team. Bolivar-Richburg’s Madigan Harris and McKinlee Harris along with Warsaw’s Makaylah Higgins and Chloe Hubbard also were named to the C2 team. Bre Bishop (Caledonia-Mumford), Sofia Riquelme (Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale), Hannah Roegiers (Marion) and Emma Sisson (Notre Dame-Batavia) rounded out the C2 team.
Keshequa’s Libby Benner, Kelsey Davis, Kaylin Fox and Ava Thayer topped the Class D1 All-Tournament team.
Benner scored three goals including the only score in a 1-0 win over top-seeded and reigning champion, Fillmore as the fourth-seeded Indians knocked off a pair of higher-seeded sides on the way to their first title since 2014. Thayer assisted on Benner’s winner over Fillmore in the semifinals and also scored two goals in sectionals. Davis and Fox were part of a Keshequa defense that limited opponents to one goal in the title run.
Ashley Burrows, Mary Hamer and Hannah Southwick-Powers helped Genesee Valley/Belfast to the D1 finals and earned nods on the All-Tournament team.
Eliza Almekinder (Naples), Isabel Badeau (Alfred-Almond), Polly Bay (Naples), Alexa Colon (Honeoye), Amelia Rose (Fillmore), Grace Russell (Fillmore), Ariana Sierra (Avoca/Prattsburgh) and A.J. Williams (HAC) were also named to the D1 team.
Northstar Christian’s Katelyn Demarest, Samantha Demarest, Grace Kearney and Alyse Wesp topped the Class D1 team. The quartet helped the Knights to their third title in program history.
Katelyn Demarest had two goals in sectionals. Kearney accounted for a goal and three assists. Samantha Demarest and Wesp led a defensive effort that limited opponents to two goals in three games.
C.G. Finney’s Allie Frederickson, Gracie Groome and Kiara Vanderjagt also were named to the Class D2 team along with Kennedy Bledsoe (Andover/Whitesville), Natalie Cornell (Jasper-Troupsburg), Jenn Dickens (Friendship/Scio), Danica Dresser (Hammondsport), Sarina Johnson (Mount Morris), LaZell Locey (Hammondsport), Alyssa Marsh (Lima Christian) and Emily McCaig (Jasper-Troupsburg).
