Livingston County Athletic Association rivals square off for the third time this season. Section V Class B1’s top-seeded teams will battle it out to determine a champion. Here’s what you need to know:

How they got here: Hornell opened sectionals with a 11-1 win in the quarterfinals over No. 9 seed Batavia before knocking off No. 4 Greece Olympia, 5-1 in the semifinals. Livonia shutout No. 7 seed Palmyra Macedon, 4-0 and defeated No. 3 seed Attica/Alexander 2-0 in the semifinals.

Last time they met: The two teams split regular-season meetings, with Livonia topping Hornell 2-0 on September 6th. Hornell avenged the loss with a 2-1 win on October 3rd.

History 101: Livonia is looking to clinch its eighth appearance in regionals and first since 2016 when the Bulldogs reached the state quarters for the fifth straight year. Kearney/Chesterton is looking to advance to the state tournament for the second time. Kearney last reached the state quarters in 2004.
Kickoff is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. The game will be played at Canandaigua Academy.
