Rochester Colonial Wednesday Girls’ Soccer Wrap: Bloomfield’s Kast and Mynderse’s Verkey have golden touch; Parker paces Wheatland-Chili

Addison Rice found the back of the net on a pair of occasions while Trinity Surowiec and Bailey Cook had a goal apiece as Wayne jumped to a 4-nil lead at halftime and went on to win for the third time in the past five games. Denalli Derks added an insurance goal in the second half for the Eagles. Abigail Brown made 11 saves in the win.

MYNDERSE (6-3-2) 2 OT

Madelyn Verkey connected on a golden goal eight minutes into overtime, and Mynderse won for the fifth time in the past six games. Ella Wirth assisted on the game winner. Ali Nigro got the Blue Devils on the scoreboard midway through the second half. Myah Herron was credited with an assist on the play. Lauren McDermott made eight saves for the win. Mynderse is 7-1-2 in its past 10 games.

C.G. FINNEY (10-3-0) 7

Allie Frederickson finished with a hat trick along with an assist while Gracie Groome accounted for two goals and two assists to lead Finney to its fifth straight win. Ava Lombardo started the scoring for the Falcons. Kate Frederickson also found the back of the net in the win. Hope Muratore, Amelia Marsiglio and Ta’Lijah Brown contributed an assist apiece. Grace Vitti made three saves for the shutout, Finney’s third straight clean sheet and fifth overall this season.

NOTRE DAME-BATAVIA (7-5-1) 0
BYRON-BERGEN (13-0-0) 4

Victoria Rogoyski opened the scoring three minutes into the contest and Byron-Bergen cruised to a regular season sweep in Genesee Region action. Mia Gray found the back of the net before halftime for a 2-nil Bees’ lead heading into the break. Ava Gray and Elizabeth Starowitz added unassisted efforts in the second half. Starowitz and Mackenzie Hagen had an assist apiece in the win. Novalee Pocock made four saves for the shutout, her 11th of the season. Notre Dame-Batavia’s Rebeka Nickerson stopped 21 shots. Byron-Bergen took an 8-nil decision when the two teams met last week.

WHEATLAND-CHILI (11-2-2) 6

Emily Parker finished with two goals and two assists while Vanessa Guererro scored twice to lead Wheatland-Chili to its sixth win in the past seven games. Parker set up Guererro for a goal five minutes into the match and scored on an unassisted effort in the 32nd minute for a 2-nil lead at halftime. Chyene Whitcomb started the second-half scoring. Lauren Nelson also contributed to the offense. Alison Farrell and Sienna Mekker had an assist apiece in the win. Wheatland-Chili’s two losses this season have both come to undefeated Byron-Bergen (No. 2 NYSSWA Class C).

MARCUS WHITMAN (11-1-1) 1 OT

Marcy Kast scored twice including a golden goal in the ninth minute of overtime as Bloomfield rebounded from back-to-back 1-nil losses to win for the fourth time in the past six games. Kast, who opened the scoring with a shot from the corner of the goalie box, scored her game winner from the same spot. Raegan Wessinger converted a corner kick from Zoelle Payne to level the match for Marcus Whitman. Sofie Kacmaryk had an assist for Bloomfield. Sadie Kacmaryk made 12 saves for the Bombers. Sophie Snyder stopped eight shots for Marcus Whitman.

DUNDEE/BRADFORD (6-6-1) 4 OT

Alyssa Bailey connected on a golden goal to lift Honeoye to its third win in four games. Leah Green led the offense with two goals and an assist. Ava Higgins and Sydney Pulver also found the back of the net for the Bulldogs. Alexa Colon contributed an assist. Honeoye is 5-1-1 in its past seven games.

RED JACKET (1-11-0) 4

Brooklyn Vienna finished with two goals and an assist to lead Red Jacket. Jenna North and Sarah English also scored in the win. Ava Krise and Madison Moore had an assist apiece. Lydia Seils scored the lone Romulus goal.

Olivia Strader collected two goals and an assist while AJ Williams accounted for a pair of tallies to lead HAC to its fourth win in the past six games. Katherine Winchester started the scoring with an unassisted effort. Winchester later set up the final goal of the game from Williams. Olivia Fowler and Nadia Wehbe both had an assist.

Elizabeth Brandt finished with two goals and two assists to lead Williamson which has won four times in the past five games. Isabella Graves started the scoring for the Marauders, and Lauren Schmeelk also contributed to the offense. Audrey Murray and Anna Henner both had an assist. Lizzetta Myers scored the lone Red Creek goal with an assist from Marley Sharkey.
