Henry Juan’s three RBI night and a seven-run sixth inning helped the Blue Jays cruise to their fifth straight win. Juan plated Owen Murphy on a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Avery Bowens followed with an RBI-single in the two-run inning. With four runs already scored in the sixth, Juan connected for a bases-loaded single to bring around Gavin Moore and Murphy. The Jays entered the frame leading 4-2. Kenny Murphy led of the rally after being hit by a pitch, stealing second and then coming home off a Matthew Bradley single. Jarod Signorelli followed a Zachary Harnischfeger walk by reaching on an error as Bradley scored from second. Harnischfeger moved to third and Signorelli advanced to second on the error before scoring on back-to-back singles by Owen Murphy and Moore. Caleb Delly’s walk loaded the bases for Juan’s two-run single. Juan also scored on Jim Marasco’s RBI-single in the fourth. Juan struck out two batters over two hitless innings in relier. He retired the side in order in the sixth. Michael Contini (2-1) started and allowed two unearned runs over four innings of five-hit ball to pick up the win. Moore finished 1-for-2 with an RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored. For the Cardinals, DJ Stoianovich, Josh VanBramer and David Stirpe had two hits apiece and an RBI. VanBramer singled in the fourth to score Walker Wright. Stirpe double in the frame to plate VanBramer to take a 2-1 lead. Back-to-back singles by Bobby Sellers and Stirpe set up for Stoianovich’s RBI-single in the seventh. The Blue Jays are now 7-0 versus the Cardinals.

Devin Hicks (3-2) struck out four over four-plus innings of work as the Monarchs completed a four-game sweep of the Ducks. Hicks allowed two hits and four walks for his second straight win. Jacob Jones hurled three scoreless innings to notch a save. The Monarchs pulled away with a lead thanks to a three-run bottom of the third. The bases were loaded with no outs after Bryce Tyndell reached on an error, Jacob Soricone was hit by the pitch and Anthony Anazalone singled. Jourdan Plaisted singled in the following at-bat to plate both Tyndell and Soricone. Trevor Gienau reached on an error with two outs bringing Anazalone home for the winning run. Dan Tirabassi followed up a double by Dan Hooper in the bottom of the second to get the “Narchs on the board. Hooper finished with two hits and a run scored. For the Ducks, Ryan Smith (1-2) struck out eight batters over six innings. Smith allowed six hits, a walk and two earned runs. He retired the Jays’ final six batters in order between the fifth and sixth innings. The Ducks scored all three of their runs in the first two frames. Jake Dockum doubled and scored when Alan Michael LeFrois reached on an error in the top of the first. Shane Pray led off the second with a double and eventually scored on a dropped third strike. Tyler Cerame brought Paul Sofinski home with a sacrifice fly. The Monarchs have now won five games in a row.
