Matthew Bradley, Henry Juan and Zach Morrison led the way in a four-run sixth inning, propelling the Blue Jays to their third consecutive win. Juan connected on a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded bringing home Owen Murphy for a 9-9 tie. Murphy was hit by the pitch with one out in the frame. Gavin Moore walked the next at-bat and was followed by Josh Battaglia being struck by the pitch to load the bases. With two outs, Morrison singled to plate Moore for the go-ahead run. A third hit batter loaded the bases for Bradley who singled to drive home Battaglia and Morrison. Bradley has now hit in four straight games all coming in his last six at-bats. Drew Delaney (3-0) earned the win in relief. The ICBL strikeout leader retired nine via strikes and scattered seven hits, giving up four runs over the final five innings. The right-hander retired the side in order in the top of the fourth and sixth, all coming as strikeouts in the sixth. The Jays scored four runs in the first and third innings and took advantage of five errors. The Cardinals’ Tyler Curtis went for two home runs and three hits. His first homer came in a four-run top of the third. He followed up a DJ Stoianovich RBI triple and a Carlos Fantauzzi RBI single with a two-run drive to take a 7-4 lead. Curtis added a two-run shot in the fifth to bring around Fantauzzi to reclaim the lead. Josh VanBramer had a three-run home run in the second that answered a four-run first by the Jays. Fantauzzi went 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs. The Jays are now 5-0 against the Cardinals and 9-1 in their last 10 contests. The teams will meet Tuesday and Thursday.

Jourdan Plaisted’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth brought in the winning run as the Monarchs survived a late push to secure a third straight win. Plaisted singled with two outs to plate Dan Tirabassi. Tirabassi walked on four pitches, advanced on a passed ball and moved to third on a ground out by Trevor Gienau before scoring. Anthony Anazalone and Nick Nealon had RBI singles in the fifth to make the score 4-1. The Ducks answered by scoring three runs in the sixth, tying the game. Nealon went 2-for-3 with two RBI, the second coming as double in the third that plated Paul Amuso. Dan Hooper went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and doubling twice in the second and fifth. Devin Cannon (1-0) earned his first win by striking out two batters and allowing a hit and three runs over the final two innings, despite hitting three batters. For the Ducks, Shane Pray connected on a game-tying double in the sixth to score Jake Dockum and Jason Story with two outs. Trey Brown walked and stole third after advancing on a hit-batsman. This marked Pray’s first multi-hit game on the season. Brown had an RBI in the fourth for the team’s first run. The Monarchs are now 4-1 when facing the Ducks. The teams will meet Tuesday and Thursday.
