Matthew Bradley (2-1) hurled five shutout innings in relief to set up a come-from-behind victory highlighted by a six-run sixth inning. Bradley struck out 11 batters and limited the Cardinals to two hits when he entered a 7-0 game. Bradley did not allowed a runner past second base and struck out the side in the third, fourth and sixth innings. His performance set personal bests in strikeouts and innings pitched for the season. He previously reached highs of five strikeouts over three innings. Avery Bowens, Jorge Oropeza III, Cooper Hassell and Josh Battaglia each had multiple RBI in the comeback that ensued. The Jays scored two runs in the third, three in the fourth, two in fifth to tie before breaking through in the sixth. In the six-run rally, Kenny Murphy singled to start the inning and scored on a Battaglia sacrifice fly. Caleb Delly brought home Hassell with an RBI single. Zachary Harnischfeger had a hit and came home on an Owen Murphy fielder’s choice. Bowens connected on the next pitch to plate Delly and Murphy, and was then brought around by Oropeza’s single that followed. Bowens finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Oropeza had a hit and two RBI. Hassell and Battaglia were both 1-for-2 with two RBI. Jim Marasco and Danny Melendez each had a hit and an RBI. The Jays finished with 10 hits, nine of which came in the 13-run rally. For the Cardinals, their seven runs all came in the top of the second. Sean Flannery plated Dan Caverly and Cody Vetter with a single. Tim McClare connected on a two-run double in the next at bat, plating DJ Stoianovich and Flannery to grab the early lead. Caverly, Donovan Rotsman and Vetter started the scoring with consecutive RBI. The Blue Jays are now 4-0 versus the Cardinals. The teams will meet three times next week.

Nick Nealon walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with a two-out single to earn the Monarchs’ second-straight win. The hit came as part of a two-run frame. Jacob Parker delivered a game-tying single, plating Dan Tirabassi. Tirabassi led off the inning by reaching on an error which was then followed an out by a seven-pitch walk drawn by Trevor Gienau and out later. Gienau moved to second on Parker’s hit and moved to third on a ground ball by Dan Hooper, before Nealon brought him home. The Monarchs scored twice in the third, thanks to an RBI single off the bat of Devin Georgetti who drove in Parker for the team’s first run. Anthony Anazalone took advantage of a passed ball the same play to score and make the score 3-2. Jacob Parker went 3-for-3 for his second three-hit performance of the campaign. Devin Hicks (2-2) was credited with the win over the final two innings. He struck out two batters and scattered two hits and a walk, never allowing a man beyond second base. For the Ducks, Jason Story went 1-for-2 with two RBI. He singled in a two-run first to score Tyler Cerame. Two subsequent walks forced in a run to make the score 2-0. He then connected for a sacrifice fly in the third to score Cerame for the second time. Cerame singled in both frames. The Monarchs are now 3-1 versus the Ducks. The teams will meet three times next week.
