DUCKS (5-8) 7
BLUE JAYS (9-4) 8

Gavin Moore and Kenny Murphy paced a three-run seventh to cap a come-from-behind victory and propel the Blue Jays to their league-best ninth win. Moore plated Robbie Wing and Caleb Delly with a one-out double to tie the game at 8-8. Moore moved to third thanks to a wild pitch and came around on Murphy’s single to give the Jays their first lead of the night. Danny Melendez went 2-for-2 with two singles, a walk and two runs scored in the game. Avery Bowens (3-1) hurled two scoreless innings in relief and earned his third consecutive win on the mound. The right-hander did not allow a hit and retired six of seven batters he faced. He worked a 1-2-3 seventh to seal the win. The Jays had eight hits and capitalized on four errors. Matthew Bradley, Jack Zawacki and Robbie Wing each had an RBI. For the Ducks, Tyler Cerame went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a run scored. Cerame’s three RBI came in the first two innings as the Ducks jumped to a 5-2 lead. Trey Brown and Alan Michael LeFrois had a hit and an RBI apiece.

CARDINALS (5-8-1) 1
MONARCHS (7-6-1) 8
Nick Ianniello’s five-RBI night helped avenge a lopsided defeat two nights prior, and the Monarchs snapped a four-game skid. Ianniello connected on a two-out single in the first to give the Monarchs a lead they did not relinquish. With Trevor Gienau, Dan Tirabassi and Jacob Soricone aboard, Ianniello delivered with his first of two hits to bring in Gineau and Tirabassi. Soricone took advantage of an error to score on the play. Ianniello’s single in the third followed a Maxx Countryman double to add another run, and he brought in Gineau with a sacrifice fly ball in the sixth. The performance put Ianniello atop the league leaderboard with 13 RBI. Gienau went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored. Troy Liebert (2-1) started and scattered three hits over five shutout innings to earn the win. The right-hander struck out nine and walked two. For the Cardinals, Phillip Messina’s leadoff triple in the seventh set up Frank McCabe for an RBI groundout. Messina and Tim McClare both went 2-for-3. DJ Stoianovich had a hit. Stoianovich now has a hit in six straight games. Josh VanBramer had six strikeouts over three innings of relief work. The Monarchs have taken three of five head-to-head meetings between the two teams. The Cardinals claimed Tuesday’s matchup with a 15-5 victory.
