Fillmore and Clymer-Sherman-Panama (VI) to duel in Class D Far West Regional

The Section V champion Fillmore Eagles (16-3) will meet Section VI champion Clymer-Sherman-Panama (16-1) in the Class D Far West Regional. A noon start is scheduled Saturday at Salamanca High School.

How they arrived here: Clymer-Sherman-Panama defeated Ellicottville and Franklinville to earn its sectional title. Fillmore beat Lima-Christian and Avoca-Prattsburgh on the way to its first title in two decades. 

Tempo and Trends: CSP on average scores 11.4 runs and gives up 2.2 runs a game. 

What’s at stake: A spot in the NYS semi-finals against the winner of Germantown (II) and Chapel Field Christian (IX). 

History 101: This is the fourth time Fillmore has won a sectional championship, with the other three times being in 2000, 1975, and 1972.
