Carter Fink tossed a complete game, striking out five batters, walking two and allowing six hits, leading Victor to the Class AA finals. With no outs, and the tying run at third, with the leadoff man at the plate, Fink worked out of a jam, by forcing two fly-outs, and a tag-out at home plate, due to a failed squeeze attempt. Connor Cronin singled to drive in the winning run in the top-of-the-fifth. Zach Prior had an RBI single earlier in the inning, to put Victor up 3-1. Matt Brady singled in the third to bring around Victor’s first run. Cronin, Brady, and Max Friedlander each had two hits. For Fairport, Connor Sackett went 2-for-3, with an RBI in the first inning, that brought teammate home Dylan Norton. Pinch-hitter Nathan Murphy tripled in the bottom-of-the-seventh, to drive in Nick Provenzano, to pull the Red Raiders within one run.
Victor will play No. 2 McQuaid for the AA sectional title on Tuesday (5/31) at 7pm. The game will be played at Frontier Field.

The Knights scored 10 runs before yielding a hit, crossing the plate at least once in each of the first four frames. Taylor set the tone from the pitching rubber, but Aiden Stewart recorded a leadoff triple and notched a run on CJ Phelps’s single to commence the scoring. Garett Wilson brought home Josh Butka and Nate Hill on the play. Hill’s run proved to be the game winner. Two outs and four batters later, starting pitcher Shane Talbot drove in two more with a single of his own, and the Titans were on their way to a second straight sectional finals appearance. Paul Byrne struck out five batters on the hill, allowing two hits, walking two, and giving up one earned run, through five innings of work. Jake Fekete struck out three of the eight batters he faced, and allowed a single hit, through the remaining two innings. Cole Pringle went 2-for-3, with a two-out, two-run double in a five-run bottom of the fifth, driving home Noah Littlefield and Maxwell Vorrasi. Littlefield and Vorrasi both drew four-ball walks for RBI in the same inning. Jack Zawacki homered to left field in the sixth, to make the score 9-1. Vorassi finished 1-for-2, with a single, two RBI, and two runs scored. Tyler Mullin went 2-for-3, with an RBI and two runs scored. For Wayne, Ryan Becker went 2-for-3, with an RBI-single that came in the fourth, that brought home Michael Prentice for the games first run.
Pittsford Sutherland will advance to play No. 6 Greece Athena in the Class A2 sectional title game on Tuesday (5/31) at 5pm. The game will be played at Monroe Community College.

Aleks Englert, Sammy Saucke, and Connor Osier all came through with RBI in a three run top-of-the-fifth for Greece Athena, to break the 3-3 tie and send the Trojans to the Class A2 finals. Englert singled to centerfield, bringing home Jaden Madrid, who walked to open the inning. After a double by Jayden Rapp, Saucke and Osier connected on back-to-back singles, to widen the deficit. Osier also homered in the top-of-the-second, to start the scoring for his team. TJ Kurtz earned the win through six innings, striking out eight batters, allowing four hits, two walks, and no earned runs. Madrid closed out the game, with a 1-2-3 seventh inning. For Mendon, Colden Forney had an RBI double in a two-run first inning, scoring Daniel Palumbo to make the score 2-0. Zachary Young followed up with an RBI single in the second.
Greece Athena will advance to play No. 5 Pittsford Sutherland in the Class A2 sectional title game, to be played on Tuesday (5/31) at 5pm. The game will be played at Monroe Community College.

Shawn Kimball struck out four batters, allowing two runs, and one hit through six and one-third innings. Vincent Grazioplene drove in two runs off a double. Mekhi Fortes and Alex Johnson each added RBI singles. Jesse Reinhart had an RBI. Batavia advanced to play the winner of No. 4 Aquinas/No. 1 Palmyra-Macedon for the Class B1 title.
CLASS B2

AJ Brotz struck out six, walked one, and allowed six hits over six and one-third innings and contributed three hits at the plate, leading Haverling to a Class B2 title berth. Brotz hit a two-run home run in the second inning, to make the score 3-0. Zach Musso closed out the seventh inning in relief, and added a triple that followed Brotz’s homer in the second. Haverling totaled 14 hits at the plate. Ethan Brotz, Colin Coots, and Evan Pendle each had two hits, with Pendle picking up an RBI. Owen Smith had a double and two RBI, while teammate Cayden Mattison had an RBI tripled in the sixth. For Livonia, Jack Kearney went 2-for-3, with two RBI, which included a double, that brought home Brady O’Keefe in the fourth innings, for the team’s first run.
Haverling advanced to the Class B2 sectional title game to play the winner of No. 6 Wayland-Cohocton/No. 2 Le Roy.

Bradyn Orbaker had two RBI in a three run fourth inning, and came around to score in the sixth, accounting for Sodus’s last three runs, on their way to the Class C1 title game. Orbaker started the game on the mound. Through four innings, he struck out one batter, allowed six hits, and one earned run. McCarthy came on in relief, striking out one batter, while giving up three hits, and one earned through the final three frames. Logan Bulman singled in the fourth, to bring home Brady McCarthy for the Spartans’ first run of the game. Evan Laird earned an RBI in the sixth, by drawing a four-pitch walk, forcing home Orbaker.
Sodus will play the winner of No. 3 Williamson/No. 2 Letchworth for Class C1 title.

Wyatt Karnuth and Trey Buchholz pitched a combined shutout, and totaled eight hits and six RBI, on way to a Class C3 title berth for top-ranked Bolivar-Richburg. Karnuth struck out five of the final eight batters he faced, allowing a hit and a walk in the final two frames. At the plate, he went 5-for-5, with four RBI, and four runs scored. He also stole four bases. Buchholz started, and struck out eight batters, and allowed two hits and no walks, while facing seventeen batters. In the box, he went 3-for-5, including an RBI triple in the third inning, accounting for two RBI and five runs. Ethan Childs went 4-for-5, with two RBI and two runs scored. Camdyn MacDonell had a hit, and three RBI, scoring three runs. The Wolverines totaled 18 hits, nine of them coming in a 15 run sixth inning. For HAC, Alex Sassaman went 2-for-3, and Sal Timpani had a hit.
Bolivar-Richburg will play the winner of No. 3 Caledonia-Mumford/No. 2 Northstar Christian for the Class C3 title.

Graham Cahill hurled a complete game shutout striking out 11 and giving up three hits and no walks, allowing top-ranked Fillmore to advance to the Class D finals. Brent Zubikowski had a two-out, RBI single in the fourth inning to score Alex Ellsworth with the only run of the game. Ellsworth started the frame by drawing a four-pitch walk, and stole second, setting himself up in scoring position. For Finney, Jon Rouce completed the game on the hill, striking out eight batters, and allowing two hits and two walks. Rouce also had a hit.
Fillmore will advance to play the winner of No. 3 Naples/ No. 2 Avoca/Prattsburgh for the Class D title.
