Marissa Mancini led the way with back-to-back home runs, totaling 4 RBI. The cleanup hitter’s first home run came off a solo-shot to lead off the bottom-of-the-second. The second, being a three-run home run, came with two outs in the the bottom-of-the-third, which drove in Carrie Sidare, and Joelle Jay. Mancini was intentionally walked in the fifth. Renee Carnevale had the other RBI, in the bottom-of-the-third, driving home Ashley Jedrich on a ground-out to the left-side of the infield.

Webster Thomas secured a perfect 3-0 season sweep of Bishop Kearney, by way of a 12-hit performance, led by Anna Bello. Bello’s first hit came off a two-out homer to center field in the bottom-of-the-third inning, and then followed it up with a two-run double in the fourth, in a frame which featured five runs put up by Webster. The sixth, seventh, and eight hitters: Emily Ford, Julia Maciag, and Izzy Giorgione started the inning off with consecutive singles, and the latter two came home to score off an error that came immediately following the Giorgione single. Giorgione stole home, after she was moved over to third by a Mary Marrapese infield single. One out latter, Anna Bello’s double made it 8 to 1. Giorgione capped the scoring with a two-run single in the fifth, that drove home freshman, Molly Sweeney and Emily Ford. Senior, Rose Nicastro faced 21 batters, through five innings, striking out five, while allowing three hits and one run. Sophomore, Madison Hicks finished in relief, striking out three of the eight batters she faced, walking two through the final two innings. Bishop Kearney’s only run came from opposing pitcher, Carmella Phelan, who scored off a fielder’s choice in the top-of-the fourth, becoming Kearney’s only run scored this season in the three meetings against Webster Thomas.

Lily Goldberg struck out 15 batters, and gave up one hit, securing the shoutout, and a trip to the Class A2 finals for the number one ranked Mendon Vikings. Arina van Baaren went 2-for-3, with an RBI. Emma Giordano had a hit and an RBI, while Greta Marino went 1-for-3.
Pittsford Mendon advances to the Class A2 finals, to face no. 2 Pittsford Sutherland on Saturday at 2pm. The game will be played at Greece Odyssey.

Riley Gonzalez, with one out in the bottom-of-the-seventh, skied the first pitch she saw to left-field, deep enough to score teammate Hannah Glanton for the winning run, in the first meeting this season between the two teams. Glanton started the frame off with a bunt-single, and took off to steal second, one pitch later. Julianna Lyons popped a single to the left side of the infield, which moved the eventual winning run to third. Glanton went 3-for-3, with an RBI, and 2 runs scored, including a tie-breaking, two-out single in the bottom-of-the fourth that brought Addison Bernas home, making the score 4-3. Julianna Lyons had three hits on four at-bats, collecting three RBI. Junior, Maddy Ward pitched the complete game in the circle, striking out seven batters, allowing 10 hits, and three earned runs. For Wayne, Emma Grasso had a complete-game of her own, as she struck out nine batters, and allowed nine hits and four earned runs. Grasso had a double, and came around to score in a three-run top-of-the-first. The Eagles rallied with two outs, courtesy of back-to-back, RBI-singles by Kayda Smchmitt and Tori Mueller, which were followed by an RBI-double off the bat of Sam Smith. Mueller led the way at the plate, with three hits.
Pittsford Sutherland advances to the Class A2 finals, to face no. 1 Pittsford Mendon. The game will be played at Greece Odyssey.

Addy Dillenbeck led the way with four hits, in a 14-hit afternoon, as top-ranked Lyndonville advanced to the Class 3 finals. Ella Lewis had three hits, while Morgan Austin and Lorelei Dillenbeck each added a pair of hits. Haley Shaffer earned the win, striking out six batters, and allowing just as many hits. Shaffer also had an RBI-triple in a four-run fifth inning.
Lyndonville will face no. 3 Bolivar-Richburg in the Class C3 finals, on Saturday at 5pm. The game will be played at Honeoye Falls Middle School.

Alexis Johnson completed the game on the rubber, striking out 8 batters, scattering five hits, and allowing two earned runs, as Honeoye advances to the Class D Finals, beating Fillmore in their only meeting of the season. Alexa Colon went 3-for-5, with three RBI, and four runs scored, including an RBI-triple in the bottom-of -the-sixth. Ava Higgins added three RBI, and two singles. Clare Griffin went 2-for-2, with a two-run double in the first, and a run scored. Lindsey Higley went 2-for-3 at the plate, with a double, and two runs scored. Honeoye totaled 14 hits, scoring runs in every frame, with the exception of the bottom-of-the-second. For Fillmore, Saige Friedl pitched a complete outing, striking out two, walking three, and allowing six earned runs. Lizzy Nugent and Skylar Gaddy each had a hit, and an RBI.
Honeoye advances to the Class D finals, to face no. 2 Scio/Friendship on Saturday at 5pm. The game will be played at Fillmore Central School.
