Leadoff man Parker Kleinbach swung and missed at a breaking ball for the third strike of the at-bat. The ball, though, bounced into the turf and out of the batter’s box. Kleinbach alertly headed to first. When the Eastridge catcher could not immediately find the ball along the backstop, the Blue Devils’ third baseman moved another 90 feet to second base. READ MORE.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the second inning, the Titans had seven hits and scored six runs to take a 6-1 lead. Nate Hill had a two-run single. Nate Zicari, Josh Butka, and Garett Wilson each had RBI singles in the inning. Butka, Hill, Colby Wilson, and Shane Talbot had two hits apiece on the night for the Titans. Nate Zicari picked up the win on the mound going four innings, striking out five and giving up three hits. Brother Mike Zicari came in and threw three scoreless innings of relief for the Titans. Matt Howe had two hits, a sacrifice fly, and all three RBI for Brighton. Andrew Cranston had two hits.
With the victory, Webster Thomas head coach Kevin Neenan reached a career milestone of 100 wins with the program.
WAYLAND-COHOCTON (8-3) 1
HAVERLING (11-1) 16 (5 INNINGS)
AJ Brotz accumulated three base knocks, three RBI and three runs scored to lead Haverling’s offensive outburst in a seventh consecutive victory. The senior infielder doubled and tripled among his three hits. Zachary Musso whiffed five batters in four frames of one-run ball on the mound. The junior pitcher recorded three hits, two RBI and a pair of runs scored at the dish. Ethan Brotz and Gavin Buckley both drove in a run and crossed the plate once. Brotz collected a pair of base knocks while Buckley had one. For Wayland-Cohocton, Brogan Cotter and Charles Mulford both legged out a double.
AVOCA/PRATTSBURGH (7-4) 13
ALFRED-ALMOND (1-6) 2 (5 INNINGS)
Sawyer DeVoe singled, reached on an error, drove in three runs and crossed the plate once as Avoca/Prattsburgh rolled to its fifth victory in the last six games. The junior centerfielder swiped a pair of bags as well. Jamel Crowder and Tucker Gerych both followed up with a pair of RBI. Crowder added two stolen bases and two runs scored while Gerych crossed the plate once. Sophomore leftfielder Macoy Putnam singled, was hit by a pitch, swiped three bases and scored a trio of runs. Junior second baseman Evan Campbell contributed with a double, single, hit by pitch, two swiped bags and a pair of runs scored. Josiah Stilson singled twice, stole a base and crossed the plate once. Pacey Hopkins amassed nine strikeouts in a complete effort in which he only allowed three hits. For Alfred-Almond, Hunter Smith led with a RBI single to drive in Ethan Sick. Ty Kenney singled and scored on a wild pitch as the Eagles did all their scoring in the opening frame.
CUBA-RUSHFORD (4-6) 2
BOLIVAR-RICHBURG (9-1) 12 (6 INNINGS)
Three different players (Trey Buchholz, Wyatt Karnuth and Camdyn MacDonell) drove in at least two runs as Bolivar-Richburg scored in every inning to lead the Wolverines to their second straight win. MacDonell led with two hits and four RBI via a groundout, two-run single and double. MacDonell added a walk. Buchholz and Karnuth both followed up with a pair of RBI. Karnuth singled twice, including once to drive in two runs, doubled, reached on an error, was hit by a pitch and crossed the plate three times. Buchholz posted a two-run single and reached on an error as well as scored twice. The sophomore pitcher collected four strikeouts in four innings as well. Landon Danaher and Aydin Sisson both singled and crossed the plate twice. Danaher’s single gave the Wolverines a 2-1 lead in the second inning they would not relinquish. Danaher walked twice as well. For Cuba-Rushford, Logan Lewis led with an infield single and drove in a run on a groundout in the opening frame.
