Jazlynn Logan led the entire Rochester City Athletic Conference (RCAC) in scoring average and guided School of the Arts to 10 victories, tying East High for the most in the division. The junior guard was named 2022 Player of the Year as announced by RCAC coaches.
Despite being second on the Silverhawks in total points scored behind Maya Williams (326), Logan netted 19.4 points per game (310 points in 16 contests). The junior guard added 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists as well. Logan recorded double-digit scoring in 10 games, including 20-plus points seven times. The junior guard’s best game of the season occurred on December 23rd when she poured in 26 points, added four boards and four dimes in a 78-21 victory over Wilson Magnet. Logan’s other six 20-point performances were: 24 points four times (December 6th against Greece Odyssey, December 11th at York and twice in a pair of victories over Mount Morris), 25 points on December 16th at East High and 21 points on February 10th in a 62-11 win over Edison Tech.
Logan’s efforts resulted in the Silverhawks sporting a 10-9 record, including a 4-2 mark in the RCAC, and advancing to the Class AA sectional quarterfinals.
Teammates Adrienna Lisai, Son’ger McCollough, Briana Williams, Maya Williams and Nykerriah Wilson joined Logan on the All-League team. Maya Williams’ 326 total points scored in all 19 games played rounded out to 17.2 points per contest. The junior forward finished just shy of averaging a double-double with 9.8 rebounds and added 1.2 assists as well.
Gabriella Brown-Sturdviant and Imani Oliver were named to the All-League First Team for East High. The guard duo were the Eagles’ top scorers with Oliver leading at 15.0 points per game and Brown-Sturdviant second at 12.2 points. Oliver produced 2.3 steals, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists as well. Brown-Sturdviant recorded 3.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals.
Breanna Majors-Brown of Wilson Magnet rounded out the RCAC All-League First Team. The junior guard and co-captain paced the Wildcats with 15.4 points per game en route to five victories.
