Ella Fadale (Brockport) and Mariah Watkins (Webster Schroeder) finished one point apart in the Section V scoring race. The senior duo of Anaya Coleman and Danielle Strauf led Pittsford Mendon to the state semi-final game. Teagan Kamm guided Honeoye Falls-Lima to double-digit victories for the second time in three years. The sophomore guard, senior guards and senior center were named the Players of the Year for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Watkins finished second in Monroe County and fifth in the entire Rochester area in scoring with 530 points in 22 games played (24.1 points per game) to earn Division I Player of the Year honors for Webster Schroeder. The sophomore guard led the Warriors in blocks (37), rebounding (306) and steals (100) as well. Watkins’ scoring binges included 12 20-point games, two 30-point games and a pair of 40-point games. Watkins’ 40-point outbursts occurred at crucial points of the season. On December 14th, the 6-foot guard exploded for a career-high 42 points to lead the Warriors to a 66-52 road win at Irondequoit after a 30-point loss at Penfield four days prior. Watkins matched it two months later in a 69-33 victory over Honeoye Falls-Lima in the sectional quarterfinals.

Watkins’ 30-point games consisted of 31 points on February 1st in a 61-49 win at Our Lady Of Mercy and 34 points on Valentine’s Day in a 70-52 victory at Rush-Henrietta. Her 31-point outing against Mercy was also her first career triple-double as she grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out 11 assists. The sophomore guard’s efforts resulted in a 16-7 record, including a 5-2 mark in division play, the No. 3 seed in class A and a sectional finals appearance. Younger sister, Bria Watkins, joined her as the school’s lone representatives on the All-League team.
Ella Meabon and Bella Pucci were named to the All-League First Team for regular season champion Fairport. Pucci led the Red Raiders in scoring (384 points in 22 games played for 17.5 points per contest) and assists (78 for 3.5 per game). The junior guard added 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals as well. Pucci drilled 50 three-pointers, shot 50 percent from the field and 76 percent from the charity stripe. Meabon was second on the team with 14 points, 8.1 boards and 3.7 assists. The junior guard swiped 1.5 steals per match as well. Meabon also eclipsed 1,000career points.
Eva Elliot (Penfield), Mallory Heise (Hilton) and Kaitlin Murphy (Victor) rounded out the Monroe County Division I All-League First Team. All three players were second on their respective teams in scoring with Heise averaging the highest at 14.3 points plus 5.7 rebounds, three assists and 2.6 steals. Heise shot 39 percent from the field. The ninth-grade guard has 516 career points. Elliot produced 11 points per game while Murphy recorded 10.9. Elliot led the team in minutes (640) and plus-minus (plus-271) as well. The senior guard’s best game of the season was in the sectional semifinals against Fairport when she netted a career-high 23 points. The senior guard also tied the program record with six three-pointers made in a 68-37 win over Hilton on February 11th. Murphy nailed 37 percent of her three-pointers, 42 percent of her two-pointers and 72 percent of her free throws.

Coleman and Strauf combined for 23.4 points per game to share Division II Co-Player of the Year honors for Pittsford Mendon. Coleman led the Vikings with 343 points scored in 26 games played (13.2 points per contest). The senior guard netted double-digit points in 22 contests this season, including a season-high 26 points on December 7th in a season-opening 74-25 win over Churchville-Chili. Coleman added seven rebounds, three assists and shot 73 percent from the free throw line as well. Strauf rounded out three Vikings averaging double-figure scoring with 10.2 points per game. The senior guard’s best contests of the season came against Webster Thomas with 24 points on December 22nd in a 71-41 win and 20 points in a 70-33 win on February 15th in the regular season finale. Strauf added six assists, four rebounds and shot 76 percent from the free throw line as well.
Coleman’s and Strauf’s efforts resulted in a 24-2 record, including a regular season division title, a fourth consecutive sectional block, a regional championship and a state final four appearance. Teammates Lily Kennedy and Bridget Miller joined Coleman and Strauf on the All-League team. Kennedy missed the first five games of the season due to injury, but returned to pace the Vikings in scoring average with 15.4 points per game.
Kiara Anglin (Brighton), Mady Kelly (Webster Thomas) and Sydney Postell (Churchville-Chili) rounded out the Monroe County Division II All-League First Team. All three players were the only double-digit scorer on their respective squads with Kelly at the highest with 16.9 points per game. Kelly’s effective field goal percentage was 50 percent. The junior guard shot 40 percent from the field and 38 percent from long range as well. Kelly made 61 three-pointers and swiped 45 steals. The 5-foot-10 guard currently has 724 career points. Along with her 16.2 points per game, Anglin paced the Bruins in steals (3.7) and blocks (1.4) as well. The senior forward concluded her five-year varsity career as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,158 points and career averages of 16 points, six rebounds and three steals. Postell guided the Saints with 15.3 points while also adding 5.8 boards, 2.3 steals and 1.6 assists.

Fadale finished first in Monroe County and fourth in the entire Rochester area in scoring with 531 points in 21 games played (25.3 points per game) along with eight rebounds, five assists and five steals en route to Division III Player of the Year for Brockport. The senior guard shot 40 percent from the field, 33 percent from long range and 75 percent from the foul line as well. Fadale’s scoring outbursts included five 20-point games, six 30-point games and one 40-point game. On January 29th, Fadale outscored the entire Eastridge team, exploding for 41 points in a dominant 83-38 road win. The 5-foot-6 guard’s 30-point games consisted of 30 points twice (December 4th in a 55-53 win over Brighton and January 22nd in a 64-48 victory over Greece Athena), 35 points twice (December 29th in a 59-46 win at Gates-Chili and January 11th in a 59-46 victory at Honeoye Falls-Lima) and 32 points on February 1st in a 65-31 win over Batavia. Fadale reached 1,000 career points as well.
Also a Player of the Year for soccer as well as Senior Starting XI member, Fadale’s strong finish to her high school career resulted in a 16-6 record, including an 8-4 mark in division play, the No. 5 seed in class A and a sectional quarterfinals appearance. Teammates Emma Sodoma and Ava Velletri joined Fadale on the All-League team.
Macy Bacon, Kyleigh Chapman, Mya Herman and Abbey Herod were named to the All-League First Team for regular season champion Canandaigua. Herman led the Braves in scoring (14.8 points) and steals (3.4). The junior guard’s effective field goal percentage was 53 percent. Herod was the primary playmaker for the third consecutive season, averaging 4.6 assists. The senior guard broke the program record for assists in a game with 13 on February 5th in a 67-41 win over Brockport. Chapman paced the team in rebounding, totaling 157 in 23 games played (6.8 boards per contest). Bacon was the team’s primary rim protector, amassing 26 blocks (1.1 swats per game). The sophomore forward finished second in scoring (10.4 points per game) and rebounding (6.6 boards per game) as well. Bacon drilled 35.6 percent of her three-pointers.
Ellie Bergin rounded out the Monroe County Division III All-League First Team for Pittsford Sutherland. The junior guard accumulated 452 points (20 points per match), 207 rebounds (nine boards per game), 58 steals (2.5 swipes per contest) and 44 assists (1.9 dimes per game). Bergin became the sixth player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau as well.
Kamm led Honeoye Falls-Lima in scoring (342 points), rebounding (307 boards) and blocks (73 swats) to win Division IV Player of the Year. The senior center’s rebounds total ranked first in Monroe County. Her points total ranked second in the division and ninth in Monroe County. Finally, her scoring average (17.1 points per game) was third in the division and eighth in Monroe County. Kamm netted 17-plus points in 10 contests and reached the 20-point plateau four times. The 6-foot-1 center recorded a double-double in all 20 games she played as well.
Kamm’s season-high for points scored in a game was 25 on February 8th against Pittsford Sutherland. The senior center’s other 20-point games consisted of 23 points on December 6th in a season-opening 52-41 victory over Dansville, 20 points on December 10th in a 58-22 win at Batavia and 21 points on January 11th against Brockport. Kamm dominated down low for a pair of 20-rebound games as well, including a program-record 23 boards in a 49-40 win over Churchville-Chili in the first round of sectionals. The 6-foot-1 center also gobbled 20 rebounds on February 1st in an 82-17 victory at Greece Arcadia. She also became fourth student-athlete in program to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Kamm’s final season of her high school career resulted in a 15-6 record, a regular season division title, the No. 6 seed in class A and a sectional quarterfinals appearance. Teammates Whitley Easton and Clare Ruff joined Kamm on the All-League team. Easton was second on the Cougars in scoring with 9.6 points per game along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals. The senior guard’s 57 three-pointers made this season are fourth in program history. Ruff led the team in dishing (4.9 assists) and steals (5.7). The junior guard is only the third player in program history with 100 assists and 100 steals in a single season. Ruff’s 120 steals are a program record as well.
Nora Miller (Eastridge) and Asia Philip (Greece Odyssey) rounded out the Monroe County Division IV All-League First Team. Miller led the entire division in scoring with 411 points in 19 games played (21.6 points per game). The junior guard averaged 5.6 rebounds (second on the Lancers) and 3.7 steals (first on the team) as well. Miller’s best game of the season was on December 17th when she poured in a career-high 33 points in a 66-41 win over Greece Odyssey. The 5-foot-7 guard almost matched that total in the very next game, finishing with 31 in a 68-56 victory at East High on December 21st. Philip dominated the paint with a double-double of 15.5 points and 10.8 rebounds. The junior forward added 1.4 blocks as well.
