Both No. 1 seeded Dundee/Bradford and No. 2 seeded York have played lights-out defense in respective runs to the championship game, with both teams only giving up 27.5 PPG in the first two rounds. One of these defenses have to break, however, and it will be put to the test in Saturday’s championship match up. Here’s the breakdown:
No. 1 seed DUNDEE/BRADFORD BRAVESCOTS (21-1/Finger Lakes West) vs. No. 2 seed YORK KNIGHTS (19-3/Livingston County III)

Current streak: Dundee/Bradford has won 14 games in a row, York has won two straight.
How they arrived here: Dundee/Bradford started off their postseason run with a 62-16 quarterfinal win over No. 8 seed Red Jacket, and followed it up with a semifinal win over No. 5 seed Keshequa, 46-39. York held off No. 7 seed Caledonia-Mumford in the quarterfinals with a 49-32 victory. In the semifinals they were able to push past No. 6 seed Lyndonville by a score of 43-23.
Last time(s) they met: In 2021, York beat Dundee/Bradford, 45-35 in the C2 semifinals.

History 101: This is Dundee/Bradford’s first championship in their time of being a merged program. York is coming off winning the 2021 sectional championship. Prior to that, they have not appeared in a championship since 2017.
What’s at stake: A spot in the NYS Far West Regional Qualifier against the winner of the C2 championship between Pavilion and Gananda.
An 11 a.m. tip off is scheduled Saturday, at Rush-Henrietta High School.
