In four possessions, Michael Rowland turned a four-point edge into a 13-point advantage, and the Braves did not allow Rochester Academy within single digits for the remainder of the contest. The sophomore guard closed the first quarter with a trey from the right wing. Maddox Timothy paced York to the tune of 18 points as York earned its first sectional championship since 2012. Timothy also went on to earn Class C3 tournament MVP honors. Both Tyler Brady and Austin Flynn made the C3 All-Tournament team, and also both added 12 points for York. Ed Orman Jr., coach for York said after the game, “I couldn’t be happier for our kids and our community. Cal-Mum has really had the better of us the last few years and to finally get one is incredible.” Kyle Wade, another all-tournament team selection, scored a game high 21 points to lead Caledonia-Mumford. York will take on Avon next, with the winner advancing to play Oakfield-Alabama for a spot to go to regionals.

Giavanna White-Principio earned MVP honors with teammates Jazzmyn Lewis and Morgan Caraballo earning All-Tournament. The combination of the two junior guards on defense and the 6’1” White-Principio in the middle makes for a daunting task for any team. READ MORE.
