Bruce Wilder came alive for 18 of his 22 points in the second half as Fairport outscored Franklin, 44-34, and pulled away to win the first round of sectionals. The senior guard poured seven of his eight made field goals in the final 16 minutes of game time, including three from long range. Wilder hit 3-of-3 free throws as well. Alex Hill ignited the offense with all 17 of his points after the first quarter on seven made shots. The senior guard drill three field goals from long distance as well. Sophomore forward Aidan White chipped in 10 points in three stanzas. Fairport advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on No. 2 seed Aquinas, Friday night. For Franklin, Sha’mere Freeman led with 21 points in three quarters. The junior guard netted eight shots, including three from beyond the arc, and two free throws. Freeman had 10 points in the second quarter as well. Sophomore guard Tai’John Lewis came alive for 10 of his 15 points in the second half. Terence Thompson chipped in 10 points. Nasir Hunter and Tobey Wright both netted nine points in the fourth quarter as Rush-Henrietta outscored Penfield, 27-14, and pulled away in the first round of sectionals. Hunter drilled a pair of three-pointers while Wright connected on two shots and five free throws. The senior duo, along with Mason Giorgione, combined for 65 points. Wright led with 23 points as he ignited the offense early with four long-range makes in the first half. Hunter came alive for 16 of his 22 points in the second half as the Royal Comets outscored the Patriots, 48-33. Giorgione recorded a crucial second half as well, posting 13 of his 20 points on seven made field goals and four foul shots. Rush-Henrietta advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on top-seeded Victor, Friday night. For Penfield, the trio of Aiden Cook, Brady Schroeder and Derek Torres led with a combined 47 points. Cook did all his damage in three quarters, hitting nine shots, including three from distance, to total 21 points. Schroeder paced the offense early with 11 of his 16 points in the first half to lead the Patriots to a 29-25 edge at intermission. The senior forward poured six of his seven made field goals inside the arc and did all his scoring in three periods. Torres chipped in all 10 of his points after the opening stanza. Teddy Emmings poured 24 points in three quarters as East Rochester dominated wire-to-wire in the first round of sectionals. The sophomore forward hit nine field goals, including six inside the arc, and three free throws. Emmings had 11 points in the third period as well. Shamar Irving combined for 14 of his 17 points in the first and fourth quarters. Three of the junior forward’s seven makes came from deep. Sam Tanner lit up from long range as well with four made shots for 12 points. East Rochester advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on No. 4 seed Canisteo-Greenwood, Friday night. For Williamson, senior guard Troy Ingham led with all 12 of his points in the second and third stanzas. Junior forward Ethan Ribble combined for 11 points in the first and third stanzas. Campbell-Savona advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on No. 4 seed Gananda, Friday night. For Clyde-Savannah, Logan Massey led with 11 points. Sophomore forward Louie Conte stepped up with 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Junior guard Zachary Barrett filled the stat sheet with 10 points, seven assists, five steals and a pair of blocks. Sophomore guard Jacek Kwiatkowski contributed 10 points, four steals and three rebounds. Senior forward Braxton Zarpentine posted nine points, nine boards and two swats. Devin Edick (6) and Jeffrey Pratt (3) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles. Kendall advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on No. 2 seed Oakfield-Alabama, Friday night. For Cuba-Rushford, junior guard Jacob Smith nailed three long-range makes as part of his game-high 18 points. Jack Frank hit three shots from long distance as well and finished with 13 points.

Junior center Jake Sawdey posted a triple-double of 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks to lead Warsaw past the first round of sectionals. Sophomore forward Bailey Schell added 13 points and four boards. Junior forward Matthew Auble recorded 12 points and four blocks in his first game back from an injury which cost him six weeks. Patrick Grover contributed 11 points and four rebounds. Sophomore guard Patrick Klump chipped in nine points and six boards. Warsaw advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on top-seeded Lyons, Friday evening. For Perry, junior guard Mathew Givens led with 11 of his 16 points in the final stanza. Meredith Czajkowski and Gillian Oksinski both scored 12 points to lead a balanced Haverling offense as the Rams dispatched of winless Wayland-Cohocton in the first round of sectionals. Czajkowski finished just shy of a double-double with nine steals and added six rebounds and five assists. Oksinski collected four boards, three steals and an assist. Sydney Burns and Emma Luckenbach both contributed with 10 points. Burns finished two steals shy of a double-double and recorded three rebounds and one assist. Luckenbach grabbed seven boards and swiped four steals. Raegan Faulkner (6), Madison Coots (4) and Olivia Travis (2) rounded out the scoring for the Rams. Haverling advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on No. 2 seed Livonia, Thursday night.

Kali Meyer amassed 12 points, six steals and five assists. Senior guard Brielle Caruso produced six points, five assists and four steals. Despite only scoring four points, Abigail Belcher gobbled eight rebounds and handed out two assists. Eleni Mountzouros (3) and Megan Tyler (3) rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs. Dansville advances to the sectional quarterfinals and will take on top-seeded Midlakes, Friday evening.
