Lily Kennedy dropped 14 of her game-high 23 points in the first half and led Mendon to a 40-17 lead going into halftime. Kennedy connected five times from the floor including one three-pointer and converted 3-for-3 at the foul line in the first half. The senior guard hit another three-pointer in the second half and scored six more points from the inside. Teammate Bridget Miller assisted Kennedy as she poured in 19 points including 12 points in the third quarter. Miller helped the Vikings have a 67-25 lead headed into the last stanza. Tied at 31, Ridley-Smith connected four times from the floor during the stanza when Vertus outscored Rochester Prep 28-6. Teammate Daymeir Cain grabbed 13 rebounds and scored 12 points in the game to finish three assists short of a triple-double. Reginald Pough grabbed eight rebounds and scored 10 points. Gerod Jackson added 14 points. Tajmeik Hawkins scored 13. Trevor Scott (6), Mark Levens (3) and Sho’miere Harvey (1) also scored for Vertus. Rochester Prep’s Jami Walker led all scorers with 22 points.

Joe Aikens and Deonte Major scored 15 points apiece to lead Rochester Academy. Aikens connected on 3-of-4 attempts from behind the 3-point arc and converted 6-of-9 from the free throw line. Major hit on 6-of-7 attempts from the floor and handed out three assists. Josiah Heyward posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kam McDonald finished with 14 points, four assists and three steals. Jaylin Duval grabbed seven rebounds and scored four points. Evariste Omebe (3) and Christian Coleman (3) rounded out the scoring for RACS. Bishop Kearney’s Colin Gentile led all scorers with 26 points. Gentile hit five 3-pointers. Zacarr Johnson added 16 points while Tommy Triassi had seven. Roderick Simmons scored six points.

Macoy Putnam scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the first when Avoca-Prattsburgh jumped to a 27-12 lead on the way to extending the state’s longest winning streak to 29 games. The sophomore guard handed out six assists while collecting four steals. Pacey Hopkins finished with 11 points, seven assists and four steals in the win while Sawyer Devoe had nine points and eight rebounds. Tucker Gerych added 13 points while Evan Campbell had 12. Caleb Johnson (5), Aiden Schlesing (5), Jamel Crowder (2) and Jamie Reagan (2) rounded out the scoring for A/P. CJ Estep led Andover/Whitesville with 15 points. Justin Waters scored eight. Gavin Cutter and Spencer Mattison contributed four points apiece.

Ryan Whitney led three in double figures with 17 points, and Geneseo won its fourth straight game. Ethan Bennett added 13 points in the win, and Josh Perez-Smith had 11. York’s Maddox Timothy led all scorers with 25 points. The Knights trailed 46-34 heading into the fourth quarter before outscoring Geneseo 21-9 over the final eight minutes. Tyler Brady added 12 points, and Connor Rodwell had six.
“Hats off to Geneseo they played very well tonight and really shot the ball well especially early on,” said York head coach Ed Orman, Jr. “Ryan Whitney played great and really had a big senior performance. I was happy we showed some good fight down the stretch that put us in position to almost steal a game we had no right winning with the way we played for three-plus quarters. It was a complete team loss. We weren’t ready to play and Geneseo was and that showed. That’s on all of us coaches and players. Hopefully this is a valuable lesson down the road and congrats to Coach Hepler and his team.”

Collin Gray led the scoring with 22 points to go with eight rebounds. Reid Martin finished with six points, seven rebounds and three assists. Calab Rigdon had eight points. Tyler Harris (3), Dawson Wadsworth (2), Aazan Sohail (2), Ethan Canfield (2) and Bryce Applin (2) rounded out the scoring for Dansville. Jake Sawdey scored 13 points to lead Warsaw.
