Doyle Security Saturday Wrap: Schillaci’s career-high lifts Schroeder; Brockport’s Fadale tops the 40-point mark

BOYS

Aness Jaff and Tyree Moore combined for 13 points in the fourth quarter when SOTA erased a two-point deficit and went on to stop a three-game skid. Jaff connected twice from the floor and scored six of his team-high 14 points. The junior forward also grabbed eight rebounds in the win. Moore scored all seven of his points on the day over the final eight minutes. Sam Howland finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists. The sophomore hit three 3-pointers in the contest. Keshaun Chatman had 11 points and seven assists. Latrell Ingram accounted for 10 points. Quincy St. Louis also scored two points for the Silverhawks. Rickey Wright paced Midlakes with 17 points. Mike DeHond and Dylan Mattoon added nine points apiece. Kyle Kumkey (6), Abe Diaz (4) and Hunter Black (2) rounded out the scoring for Midlakes.

EAST (8-3) 72

Bruce Wilder led three in double figures, and Fairport won its second straight game. Wilder connected five times from the floor including a pair of 3-pointers for a team-high 17 points. Alex Hill and Zac Ditzel combined to score 10 points in the first quarter when Fairport jumped out to a 20-9 lead. Hill finished the game with 15 points while Ditzel had 13. Jake Koonmen scored nine in the win. Aidan White (6), Wallace Rahmaan (5), Josh Knapp (5), James Stanek (3) and Ian Kennedy (2) rounded out the scoring for Fairport. East’s Damani Barley led all scorers with 27 points. Kai McCullough added 18, and Shamir Caruthers had 16. Zion Parson (8) and Mikah Johnson (3) also scored for the Eagles.

EARLY COLLEGE (2-10) 58

Zach Marsceill scored nine of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter when Elba rallied to win its sixth straight game. The senior guard connected twice from long range in the final frame. CJ Gottler finished with 11 points and nine rebounds in the win. Conner Scott had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Mike Long and Angelo Penna contributed eight points and five rebounds apiece. Early College led 43-40 heading to the fourth quarter. Jahan Richetts paced Early College with 19 points. Jamezs Brown added 14 while Michael Stroughter scored 11. Jamari Williams (7), Myqyng Arline (5), and Juhmeik Donald (2) also scored for Early College.

PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND (8-6) 68
WEBSTER SCHROEDER (9-4) 71
Gio Schillaci connected eight times from behind the 3-point and poured in a career-high 30 points, and Schroeder won for the third time in four games. Schillaci connected three times from distance in the first quarter and added two more triples in the second to help the Warriors to a 38-25 lead heading into the break. The junior guard scored five in the fourth quarter when Schroeder held off a late Sutherland rally. Schillaci had scored 35 total points this season heading into Saturday’s game. Ben Carey added 16 points in the win. Tyler Race had 10. Jon McCaffrey (4), Alex DeRosa (4), Drew Pagano (3), Nate DeMay (2) and Jack Cannon (2) also scored for Schroeder. Sutherland’s Sam Pisanelli accounted for 10 of his team-high 24 points in the fourth quarter when the Knights outscored Schroeder 22-15. Everett Wilcox added 15 points. Max Michalski had 10. Tyler Mullin (9), Chandler Reynolds (7) and Henry Goldstein (3) also scored for the Knights.

Emmanuel Torres led five in double figures with 22 points, and Eastridge won its fourth straight game. Cordell Young finished with 20 points while Emmanuel Leftenant had 18. Caquan Wester scored 11 points, and Zy Switzer had 10. Sean Pope, Jayden Reese and JuJu Pittman scored two points apiece. Brighton’s Reggie Smith, Jr. led all scorers with 30 points. Andrew Falter added 10 points, and Eli Desandis added eight. David Tisa, Jr. and Kendall Clevelan scored three points apiece. Quinn O’Brien, Kyle Smith and Brad Merola had two points apiece for the Bruins.

GREECE OLYMPIA (9-6) 79

Landen Evans and Jahod Faison combined for 14 points in overtime as Olympia won its second in three games. Evans converted 6-of-6 free throws in OT while Faison connected twice from the floor including a 3-pointer and hit 3-of-4 from the stripe. Faison finished with 13 points in the game. Evans had 12. Ricky Hill hit a triple in extra time and also scored 17 points. Despite fouling out in the fourth quarter, Anthony Starks posted a triple-double with 13 points, 14 rebounds and 11 blocks. Bryce Long connected twice from long range and finished with a team-high 18 points for the Spartans. Ayden Gorham scored six.

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA (9-6) 54

Junior Nolan Smith who scored a game-high 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots as HF-L won for the fifth time in six games. Ben Carson hit three 3- pointers’s and scored all 14 of his points in the first half for the Cougars.  JT Killenbec had five points, eight assists, and five steals.  HF-L finished with 20 team assists and had 15 steals. Carson Joint (8), Trent Wager (3), Drew Angelo (2) and Sam Vogt (2) also scored for HF-L. Connor Freehan led Livonia with 11 points. Chris Coyle had 10.  Justin Skelly (4), Evan Swan (4), Jack Kearney (3), Jake Watkins (3), Nicholas Coyle (3) and Jackson Cook (2) also scored for the Bulldogs.

Preston Prince posted a double-double with 31 points and 16 rebounds as Hilton won for the seventh time in eight games. The senior guard/forward topped the 30-point mark for the fourth time this season. Prince also had four steals in the win. Michael Whelehan scored 10 points. Carter Clark had seven points, four rebounds and two assists. Greyson Trubia had seven rebounds to go with four points and a block while Johnny Bianchi grabbed eight rebounds and handed out four assists.

Adam Swede scored a career-high 24 points, and York won for the fifth time in the past six games. Jake Pangrazio added 15 points in the win while Greg Jaroszek scored 12 and Connor Rodwell had 10 points. Stephen Somers led Mount Morris with 19 points and five rebounds. Owen Yencer and Mason Santini added five apiece for the Blue Devils. Ben Bacon had four points.

Troy Kabat connected three times from behind the 3-point arc and scored 16 of his game-high 35 points in the first quarter when Mynderse jumped out to 25-8 lead. Jay Ryrko hit five 3-pointers in the contest and finished with 17 points. Ethan Hilimire added 13 points and Will Korzeniewski scored seven. Mike Bogart and Jayden Key scored two points apiece in the win.  Devin Mulvey-Salerno paced the Waterloo offense with 16 points. Nolan Slywka added 15. Jordan Kraft added eight points. Casey Burcoff had seven. Connor McCann (5), Najib Brown (4) and Quincey Trickler (4) also scored for Waterloo.

Isaac McClelland scored four of his game-high 14 points in overtime as Bloomfield erased a double-digit deficit and won its eighth straight game. Cal Rogers added 10 in the win while Cam Smith accounted for eight of his nine points in the fourth quarter when Bloomfield outscored Romulus 21-11. Shen Gossage scored eight points for the Bombers. Xavier Williams (6), Cooper Wille (3) and Tyler Rogers (2) rounded out the scoring for Bloomfield. Mike Kaufman led Romulus with 13 points. Ben Jessop had 10 while Henry Morse scored nine. Connor Franklin and Zach Butler added six apiece.

Ella Fadale exploded 41 points, and Brockport won its third straight game. The senior guard also finished with eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Maeve Petitti added 16 points and five rebounds in the win. Ava Velletri had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Eva Elliot led three in double figures, and Penfield won for the third time in four games. Elliot finished with 15 while Emily Fordham and Grace Alexander scored 12 apiece. Jackie Funk added nine points in the win. Kennedy Cone had six points. Elisa Faklaris and Leah Fusilli both scored four points.

Kaia Goode led four in double figures with 16 points, and Kearney won its seventh straight game. Goode finished with 16 points to go with eight assists, eight steals and four rebounds. Caydence Hayley posted a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds while collecting three blocks, three steals and two assists. Amaia Jackson had 13 points in the win. Klarissa Goode accounted for 12 points, five rebounds and five steals. Aniya Rowe grabbed 11 rebounds while contributing with four points, six assists, three steals and two blocks. Allie Hall scored six points.

Grace Murphy finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead Midlakes. Teammate Callie Walker added 13 points and 17 rebounds. Mary Givens and Stella DelPapa chipped in nine points apiece for the Eagles.  Kate Mahoney added six assists. Ciana Galvin led Newark with eight points.

More than a month and a half ago, the Aquinas girls’ basketball team held an 11-point lead late in the third quarter at Palmyra-Macedon. The Li’l Irish failed to score in the fourth quarter of that game, a 57-50 loss. Saturday afternoon AQ trailed that same Pal-Mac team by 11 late in the first quarter. Jayla Bell scored 17 points while collecting seven steals, four assists, three rebounds and two blocks to lead Lyons. Imani Harder contributed 17 points as well. Harder also grabbed nine rebounds and five steals while blocking six shots. Kamryn Bonnell and Mikayla Chase scored 10 points apiece for the Lions. Bonnell matched Bell with a game-high seven steals. Kara Stephens corralled a game-high 15 rebounds while scoring six points and handing out five assists. Melana Card added two points.
