Roberto Echevarria netted 12 of his 20 points in the second half as NE Douglass outscored School Of The Arts, 37-23, and pulled away for its third win in four games. The senior guard knocked down three of his eight field goals from long distance and added four rebounds and three steals. Chris James and Loren Thomas both produced 15 points. Thomas came alive for 10 points in the fourth quarter, including 6-of-6 free throws. The sophomore guard posted four rebounds and three assists as well. James made four of his five shots inside the arc, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists. For School Of The Arts, senior guard Fred Bryant led with 15 points in three quarters, including three long-range shots. Sophomore guard Sam Howland scored all 13 of his points in the first three stanzas. Senior forward Keshaun Chatman chipped in 11 points. Aiden Cook ignited Penfield’s offense with 10 made field goals, including five three-pointers, to lead the Patriots to their second win in three games. The junior guard poured in 27 points, including 12 in the third quarter. Cook also scored eight points in the opening period, three in the second and four in the fourth. Senior forward Brady Schroeder sparked the offense with 11 of his 14 points in the first half. Matt Karpen scored all 11 of his points in three quarters. For Hilton, Preston Prince accumulated a game-high 29 points. The senior forward netted two in the first quarter, 10 in the second, 11 in the third and six in the fourth. Prince converted 13-of-17 free throws as well. Junior guard Michael Whelehan hit four three-pointers as part of his 16-point night. Sophomore guard Johnny Bianchi hit three long-range shots as he finished with 13 points. Jackson Kulik and Andrew Quinn combined to match Churchville-Chili’s point total with 48 points as Webster Thomas eclipsed 80-plus points for the second straight game. It was the Titans’ fourth consecutive victory as well. Quinn led with 27 points in three quarters, connecting on five three-pointers and 6-of-6 free throws. Kulik did all his scoring in three periods as well, finishing with 21 points on six made field goals and 9-of-10 foul shots. Junior guard Shawn Mason contributed with five three-pointers and came alive with 14 of his 17 points after the first quarter in which the Titans led, 15-7. For Churchville-Chili, Ricardo Lagares and Joaquon Thomas both led with eight points. Payton Bownds and Mason Santini both posted 17-point double-doubles to lead Mount Morris to its fourth win in five games. Bownds collected 11 rebounds and Santini had 10. Ben Bacon (8), Chase Young (8), Bryson Constantino (3), Ethan Provino (3) and Owen Yencer (2) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils.

Bownds was really aggressive attacking the basket and we did a great job moving the ball on offense. We were down after the first quarter, but couldn’t get some really good shots to go and missed a few chippies inside. We fixed that in the second quarter.”

Junior guard Zachary Barrett contributed 13 points, including 11 in the second half, and six boards. Jeffrey Pratt posted 10 of his 12 points in the first 16 minutes of game play. The senior forward grabbed seven rebounds and swiped three steals. Louie Conte and Braxton Zarpentine combined for 24 boards. Zarpentine amassed 13 rebounds to go along with three points, three assists and three steals. Conte gobbled 11 boards and added five points. For Perry, sophomore guard Bryce Tallman led with nine points. Mathew Givens and Braeden Wolfanger both had eight points.
