Cook, Desandis, Reaves and Starks nab Monroe County weekly honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Aiden Cook scored 30 points in a Penfield win. Eli Desandis paced Brighton to a divisional victory. James Reaves, Jr. (Greece Athena) averaged double figures in a pair of wins, and Anthony Starks (Greece Olympia) helped the Spartans to two victories. The four were named Player of the Week (December 19-25) for their respective divisions as announced by Monroe County coaches.

Cook connected on 12-of-20 shots from the floor including 5-of-11 from behind the 3-point arc in an 80-69 triumph over Rush-Henrietta in Division I action. The junior guard also grabbed three rebounds and handed out two assists in the win, Penfield’s only game of the week.

Desandis poured in a team-high 21 points in Brighton’s 74-65 triumph over Irondequoit. The senior point guard also collected two rebounds with an assist and a steal as Brighton improved to 4-1 on the season with a win in its only game of the week.

Reaves scored 11 in a 68-43 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima and followed that with an 18-point outing in a 70-54 win over Pittsford Sutherland. The senior guard finished the week with five rebounds, five steals and five deflections. as the Trojans improved to 4-2 on the season.

Starks connected on 10-of-13 shots for the week and scored 14 points while grabbing nine rebounds in a 64-47 Olympia win over Batavia to end the week The 6-foot-5 forward hit 6-of-7 shots, scored 15 points and corralled 10 rebounds in a 57-54 win over Brockport to start the week. Starks also had two blocks and a steal as Olympia improved to 5-2 on the season.
