Damani Barley poured in a game-high 28 points, but it wasn’t enough as East High suffered its first setback of the season. The senior point guard netted 18 in the first half, including 10 in the second quarter. Overall, Barley connected on nine of his 11 made field goals from inside the arc and 4-of-4 free throws. Senior guard Shamir Caruthers knocked down four long-range shots as part of his 14 points – all in the second half. Kai McCullough chipped in all 10 of his points through the first 16 minutes of action. For Liverpool, sophomore power forward Andreo Ash led with nine made field goals and six foul shots for 24 points. Senior guard Jacob Works scored 18 of his 19 points in three quarters. Jah’Deuir Reese contributed all 11 of his points after the opening period in which the Warriors led, 21-20. Max Schalm and Chris Woodard added 10 points apiece for the Jesuit Knights. Ian Florence scored eight points while Isaiah Anderson had seven. Colin Bavibidila, Connor Reed, Yosiah Bartlett contributed four points apiece. Josh Braunschweig (3), Anthony DiMarco (3), CJ Phelps (2), Shane Williams (2) and Gabe Zawolo (2) also scored for McQuaid.

Caleb Johnson scored 12 of his 21 points in the first quarter as Avoca/Prattsburgh burst to a 26-17 advantage and rolled to its fourth consecutive double-digit victory to open the season. The junior forward knocked down three of his four long-range shots in the opening period. Johnson collected five rebounds and two assists as well. Sawyer Devoe netted 14 of his 18 points in the first half and nine field goals altogether. The sophomore forward hauled down six boards, handed out a pair of assists and swatted a shot. Macoy Putnam scored all 11 of his points in the first and third quarters combined. The freshman guard swiped three steals, collected a rebound and an assist. For Elba, senior guard Zach Marsceill netted four shots from beyond the arc as part of his 16 points in three quarters. Junior forward Drew Morrow muscled his way to 22 points, 13 rebounds and three assists as Dansville won its Varsity Rotary Tournament. Collin Gray and Jakob Smith both followed up with 15 points. Smith accumulated 14 rebounds and four assists. Gray grabbed eight boards and dished out three assists. Junior guard Dawson Wadsworth produced 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Tyler Harris contributed two points, seven boards and five dimes. Sophomore guard Reid Martin chipped in one point and six rebounds. For Campbell-Savona, Kade Cochran scored 22 of his game-high 24 points in the first, third and fourth quarters combined. Overall, the senior forward hit four of his nine shots from long range and 2-of-2 free throws. Senior guard Kaden Bolt scored all 13 of his points after the opening period. Junior forward Ethan Ribble produced all 10 of his points after the first quarter. Mason Jewell (6) and Cain Simpson (1) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers.

All-Tournament team selection Ethan Bennett finished with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Geneseo. Teammate Luke Kingston posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Whitney added seven points, five assists and five rebounds. Josh Silva Perez had eight points and three steals. Sebria Fauntauzzo had four points, four rebounds and three steals while Owen McDonald and Lyndon Bailey chipped in seven points apiece. Brogan Cotter led Wayland-Cohocton with 25 points.

Jahmere Kirkland scored 12 points while Daiquon McKinney accounted for nine points, four steals and three assists but it was not enough as Leadership fell at the Peppino’s Invitational at Onondaga Community College. Shamirr Brooks added seven points and four assists. Mysean Morrison collected four points and six rebounds. Cameron Miller grabbed six boards to go with two points. Jose Melendez (5), Kenny Couser (6) and Dayveon Weems (3) also scored Leadership. The Lions trailed 45-41 entering the fourth quarter.

Senior center Katelyn Curry followed up with 16 points and three boards. Cierra Smith produced 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior center Kaitlyn Holland notched a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards along with two dimes and a pair of steals. Sydnee Emerson (7), Adison Plank (7), Libby Voisey (3), Lily Churchill (2) and Alaina Englert (2) rounded out the scoring for the Knights.

Daisy Smith (5), Leila Rosario (4), Aubrey Smith (4), Emma McGuigan (3), Hannah Smith (3), Kailey Besio (2), Isabella Geesler (2) and Bella Quintero (2) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.

Brooke Burd scored 10 of her 17 points in the second quarter as Canisteo-Greenwood took down host Geneseo to win the Geneseo Coaches Versus Cancer Tournament. The junior center made all eight of her shots inside the arc and hauled in 12 rebounds to be named to the All-Tournament Team. Tournament Most Valuable Player Lillian Mullen netted 11 of her 14 points in the first half and snatched 12 boards as well. Eighth-grade guard Bailey Mullen contributed seven points and four rebounds. Sophomore forward Peyton Peters chipped in five points and accumulated 11 rebounds. For Geneseo, junior center Tessa Reilly led with eight points.
