Ryan Lester finished top 10 in the entire Rochester area in scoring and ignited a Naples offense which posted an undefeated record in league play, accumulated 15 victories and advanced to the sectional semifinals. The senior midfielder was named the Player of the Year as announced by Finger Lakes West Division coaches.
Lester accumulated 50 points (22 goals and six assists) and tied with Campbell-Savona’s Kaden Bolt and Hinsdale’s Tucker Schwartz for 10th in Section V in goals scored. Not only did Lester bury the ball in the back of the net in 13 of 18 games played, he did so multiple times in six of those instances. The senior midfielder recorded three hat tricks as well, including two against Honeoye: on September 9th in a 7-0 win and on October 2nd in a 3-0 win. Lester’s other hat trick occurred on October 7th in a 5-0 win at Marcus Whitman.
Overall, Lester spearheaded a Big Green offense which amassed 192 points (67 goals and 58 assists). The senior midfielder was one of 12 players to score a goal for the Eagles and one of 13 to register an assist for the squad this season as well. The result was a 12-0 mark in league play, 15-2-1 overall record, the top seed in Class D1 and a 3-0 win over Marion in the sectional quarterfinals.
Teammates Austin Chapman and Owen Hulbert joined Lester on the West Division All-League First team. The senior duo finished second and third on the team in scoring, respectively. Hulbert procured 17 goals and Chapman followed up with 10 goals. Both seniors collected 11 assists as well.
Logan Ayers and Tyler Spina made the West Division All-League First team for Bradford/Dundee. Ayers led the Braves in scoring with nine goals and two assists. Spina compiled 49 saves in 790 minutes as the primary goalkeeper and scored two goals of his own.
Rafael Ferguson and Sean Thody were named to the West Division First Team for Harley-Allendale-Columbia. Ferguson paced the Wolves’ offense with 21 goals and six assists. Thody shored up the midfield and chipped in a pair of goals.
Calvin Rogers and Cooper Willie earned First Team honors for Bloomfield. Rogers tied with senior midfielder Eric Conklin for second on the team in scoring with eight goals along with two assists. Willie was an integral cog of the defensive backline which pitched five shutouts and contributed three goals as well.
Charles Farrell (Honeoye), Hayden Lineham (Waterloo), Carson Miller (Marcus Whitman) and Scott Verdehem (Waterloo) rounded out the West Division All-League First team. Farrell contributed to a defensive backline which pitched four shutouts. Miller amassed 191 saves in 1,116 minutes as the primary goalkeeper.
