BATAVIA BLUE DEVILS (Class B1)
Last season record and finish: 14-1, lost in Class B1 sectional final to Wayne
Coach: Buddy Brasky (33rd season)
Top newcomers: Carter McFollins Jr. G; Javin McFollins Jr. G; Tanner Mountain Sr. C/F
Outlook: “We graduated eight seniors from last year’s sectional finalist squad. We will be young and inexperienced at the Varsity level. We will try to improve gradually throughout the season and make a run at the Class B1 sectional title by the end of the year.”
First game: December 9th at Honeoye Falls-Lima at 7:15 p.m.

EASTRIDGE LANCERS (Class A2)
Last season record and finish: 8-5, lost in Class A2 sectional semifinals to Honeoye Falls-Lima
Coach: Daniel Roser (11th season, 92-107 career record)
Top returners: Emmanuel Leftenant Jr. G; Zy Switzer Jr. G; Emmanuel Torres Jr. G; Caquan Wester Sr. G/F; Cordell Young Jr. G
Top newcomers: Anthony Bennett Sr. G; Jayden Gamble Jr. G; JuJu Pittman So. G; Sean Pope Sr. F/C
Outlook: “We are returning four starters from last year. We have a good mix of quick, athletic guards as well as a versatile big man in Caquan Wester that can play inside and outside. We’re looking to use our speed and athleticism to play up-tempo basketball on the offensive end. Defensively, the team needs to buy in to toughness and discipline in order for us to be successful.”
First game: December 3rd vs. Monroe at 7:15 p.m.
GREECE ODYSSEY LEOPARDS (Class B1)
Last season record and finish: 0-9, did not qualify for sectionals
Coach: Gamal Gilchrist (Second season, 0-9 career record)
Top returners: Josh Colon Sr. G; Ma’Ron McDonald Jr. G
Top newcomers: Cam Metzler So. F
Outlook: “The team only has one senior and is in a rebuilding phase.”
First game: December 3rd vs. Greece Arcadia at Spencerport High School at 5:30 p.m.
GREECE OLYMPIA SPARTANS (Class B1)
Last season record and finish: 3-7, did not qualify for sectionals
Coach: Joseph Tisa (Ninth season overall, Eighth season for Boys’ Basketball)
Top returners: Jahod Faison Sr. G (7.6 PPG, 2.8 APG, 2.9 RPG, 1.3 SPG last season); Ricky Hill Sr. G (6.9 PPG, 2 RPG, 2.2 APG, 1.2 SPG last season); Luis Munoz Sr. F/G
Top newcomers: Landen Evans Jr. G; Ayden Gorham Jr. F/G; Bryce Long Fr. F/G; Anthony Starks Sr. F
Outlook: “This will be Coach Tisa’s most athletic team since coaching at Greece Olympia. Senior co-captains Ricky Hill and Jahod Faison give the Spartans two proven scorers in the lineup. Hill, Landen Evans and Bryce Long give the Spartans plenty of perimeter shooters which should allow for senior Anthony Starks plenty of space to operate in the post. Long, Starks, Ayden Gorham and Luis Muñoz give the Spartans multiple players who can play inside and outside in their up-tempo offense. The determining factor for the Spartans will be whether they can rebound consistently on the defensive end in order to utilize their speed in transition.”
First game: December 6th vs. Rochester Prep at 6 p.m.
HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA COUGARS (Class A2)
Last season record and finish: 9-5, lost in Class A2 sectional final to East High
Coach: Kevin Neenan (20th season, 216-169 career record)
Top returners: Ben Carson Sr. G (3 PPG last season); Tyler Emerson Sr. C; JT Killenbec Sr. PG (3 PPG, 3 APG last season); Nolan Smith Jr. F (16 PPG, 8 RPG, All-County Second Team, Class A2 All-Tournament Team last season)
Top newcomers: Drew Angelo So. G; Rhyan Garey Jr. F; Wyatt Huff So. F; Carson Joint Jr. G/F; Madut Mathuc So. F; Aidan Neenan So. G; Sam Vogt Jr. F; Trent Wager Jr. G; Nathan Weber Jr. G
Outlook: “The Cougars’ only starter back from last year’s sectional finalist team is Nolan Smith, a 6-foot-6 junior forward who was Second Team All-County last year. They will look to Nolan and our other three returners (JT, Ben, and Tyler) to step into bigger roles and lead a group that might lack some experience, but continue to work hard every day to keep getting better. The Cougars hope to play an up-tempo style on offense with some guys who can score in different ways. Defense and rebounding are two big keys for HF-L going forward, which will help them to compete every night and contend at the end of the season.”
First game: December 7th vs. Geneva at 7:15 p.m.
