Derosa started the scoring three minutes into the contest and connected again later in the first half. Welch found back of the net for the first time for a 3-nil advantage heading into the break. Avon’s Courtney Yencer stopped 14 shots. “This was a good bounce back win against a team who is a lot better than their record suggests,” Geneseo head coach Nicholas Drollette said. “Our defense played very well and Caroline Capel made a couple good saves to keep them off the board. I’m extremely happy with the work rate I’m seeing on the field.”
