Spinelli Dental Monday Wrap: Pal-Mac and York girls stay undefeated; Szemcsak leads East Rochester to second straight win

Aquinas junior Bennett Valentino connected on his fifth goal of the season as the Li’l Irish defeated Bishop Kearney, 4-0.

IRONDEQUOIT 2 OT
Samantha Scott and Lillian Gillett connected in overtime as Irondequoit outlasted HF-L. Kayla Heister assisted on Scott’s tally that broke the scoreless tie six minutes into overtime. Caroline Vines made three saves for the shutout.

BRIGHTON 4
Maggie Cregan finished with three goals and an assist to lead Brighton (7-2-0) to its seventh win in the past eight games. Cregan started the scoring with an unassisted marker 15 minutes into the match and then assisted on Meredith Reynolds’s first goal of the year for a 2-0 Bruins lead. Reynolds assisted on both of Cregan’s second-half markers. Reilly Jones and Emily Galewski scored for Victor. Maggie Galewski had an assist.

Freshman Kaitlyn Spring scored two first-half goals while Catherine Latona and Isabella Fedele added goals in the second half as the Titans won a back-and-forth game. Hailey Romansky made five saves for the win. Ekemini Udofa had a first half hat trick for Odyssey.

Wrianna Hudson found back of the net twice to lead Greece Athena (7-2-0) to its third straight win. Larissa Johnston assisted on Hudson’s first-half tally. Sadie Lombardo collected a helper in the second. Emilee Montagliano made 14 saves for the shutout, the third straight and sixth this season for the Trojans. Hudson has 12 goals and two assists on the season.

Kacie Garofalo scored the game winner with an assist from Courtney Felton to lift Penfield (10-1-0) to its ninth straight victory. Felton connected on Penfield’s first score with help from Alice Marchese. Mia Bodulovic scored the Spartans’ goal. Sam Cipolla assisted on the play.

Kate Sproul made 16 saves for Aquinas. Leah Shaffer stopped four shots for Mendon.

The two sides played to a one-all tie on September 11th. Mercy (4-3-0) had won three straight entering Monday’s match, outscoring opponents 11-1 during that recent stretch. Monday’s result was the first time the Monarchs had been shut out by an opposing Section V squad this season. READ MORE.

Kuditra Derosa and Morgan Welch scored two goals and added an assist apiece while a pair of keepers combined on the shutout as Olympia (8-2-0) won for the sixth time in the past seven games. Derosa started the scoring three minutes into the contest and connected again later in the first half. Welch found back of the net for the first time for a 3-nil advantage heading into the break. Jadyn Falco and Laynee Hysner added second-half strikes along with Welch to round out the offense. Sarah Tawaf collected two assists. Amanda Paniccia contributed a helper. Elizabeth Faulkner and Emily Sweeny both made two saves.

Emily Teerlinck connected on a pair of second-half tallies to lead Canandaigua. Allie Beaudoin and Ava Bugenhagen had an assist apiece. Payton Malec stopped two shots for the shutout.

Anna Varland finished with two goals and an assist as Batavia (6-3-0) won for the fourth time in the past five games. Olivia Halpin added a goal and an assist. Lily Miller assisted on Varland’s first goal midway through the first half. Maddie Barone made three saves for the shutout. Abbey Belcher stopped five shots for Dansville.

Kaia Goode connected on a hat trick, and Kearney (5-3-1) remained unbeaten in its past five games. Caroline O’Gara collected two assists while Sophia McMullen added a helper. Goode has 22 goals on the season and is tied for second in Section V with Olympia’s Kuditra Derosa. Marion’s Abigail Marotta leads with 23 markers.

Tabatha Winter and Macy Carr finished with a goal and an assist apiece to lead Waterloo (6-2-3) to its fourth win in the past five games. Brianna Cronberger also scored for Waterloo. Destiny Marland contributed an assist.

Sydney Pulver finished with a goal and an assist to lead Honeoye. Ava Higgins started the scoring with an assist from Skylar York. Leah Green added a goal. Alexis Johnson contributed an assist. Mickayla Scheele and Chelsie Odenbach combined on the shutout with Scheele stopping four shots.

Addison Rice collected a hat trick, and Wayne (9-2-0) won for the sixth time in seven games. Riley Simpson and Gianna Ryndock added an assist apiece. Jillian Groff made eight saves for the shutout.

Olivia Strader and Ayla Sleggs connected on first-half strikes to lead HAC (5-2-1) to its third win in five games. AJ Williams assisted on Strader’s goal. Morgan Fowler made six saves for the shutout.

Ava Hawkins and Lily Baughman finished with two goals apiece to lead Bloomfield. Marcy Kast had a goal and two assists. Maddie Johnston, Jessica Cody and Brynn Westlake each found the back of the net. Baughman, Cody and Johnston all added an assist. Ashley Bell contributed a helper. Sadie Kachmaryk made five saves.

Molly Seither connected in the second half with an assist from Kylie Waeghe, and Pal-Mac (9-0-0) stayed undefeated. Clare Boesel stopped four shots to notch the shutout. Newark’s Emma Thayer made seven saves.

Lana Burnett’s goal in the 66th minute snapped a tie game and Marcus Whitman (7-3-0) won for the fourth time in five games. Aurora Woodworth assisted on the game winner. Taylor Bond started the scoring for Whitman with a helper from Evelyn Lambert. Madison Hughes leveled the match for Dundee/Bradford with an unassisted tally. Maddie Daggett responded before halftime to give Whitman an edge heading into the break. Dundee/Bradford’s Kendall Parker leveled the match 11 minutes into the second stanza. Madison Hughes assisted on Parker’s goal. Gabrielle Tobiassen-Aasli made seven saves for Dundee/Bradford.

Morgan Andersen, Sierra Harrison, Vanessa Martinez and Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger collected a goal and an assist apiece to lead Penn Yan. Elle Harrison made two saves for the shutout. Wayland-Cohocton’s Mackenzie Pickard stopped 28 shots.

Bre Bishop, Holly McGinnis and Taylor Mills each connected on second-half strikes to lead Cal-Mum. Ava Amorese and Marissa Roides had an assist apiece. Avery DeMarco made two saves.

Rachel Matthews connected in the 53rd minute to lift Geneseo. Caroline Capel made five saves for the shutout. Avon’s Courtney Yencer stopped 14 shots. “This was a good bounce back win against a team who is a lot better than their record suggests,” Geneseo head coach Nicholas Drollette said. “Our defense played very well and Caroline Capel made a couple good saves to keep them off the board. I’m extremely happy with the work rate I’m seeing on the field.”

Four players found back of the net, three in the first half to lead York (7-0-0). Sydney Boyd and Peytyn Green started the scoring with assists from Audrey Koch and Libby Voisey. Hailey Wilson connected on an unassisted effort for a 3-nil advantage heading into the break. Cierra Smith added a tally in the second half with help from Sydnee Emerson. McKenna Kelly scored Perry’s goal with an assist from Jessica Marusarz.

Ava Thayer scored three times while Libby Benner and Catrina Pierce collected two goals apiece to lead Keshequa. Benner had two assists in the win. Pierce had one helper. Emma Jo Pierce contributed two assists. Maddie Strain also had a helper. Aurora Sabins and Shae Tierney combined for the shutout.

Emma Starowitz scored twice and Mia Gray collected three assists to lead Byron-Bergen. Victoria Rogoyski started the scoring for the Bees. Mackenzie Hagen also found the back of the net. Attica’s Rily Rzepka made 22 saves.

Caitlyn Ryan finished with three goals and an assist to lead Oakfield-Alabama/Elba. Dakota Brinkman scored twice while Christina Bartholomew had a goal and two assists. Madlyn Hall and Bianca Altamirano added a marker apiece. Piper Hyde, Ava Chatt and Alahna Chatt each had an assist.

Jailyn Bishop collected two goals and an assist while Samantha Bates scored twice and Alivia Wolf added a goal and two assists to pace the Holley offense. Tatum Gagne contributed a goal and an assist. Caitlin Dobri also scored. Sara Kingdollar and Zoey Wolf had an assist apiece. Layne Walker stopped three shots for the shutout.

Bennett Valentino connected on a first-half goal with an assist from Iesa Mohammed, and Aquinas pulled away in the second stanza. Carter Wegman, Phillip Wohltory and GiGi Rigazzi each connected after the break for the Li’l Irish (5-4-0) which have won five of six outscoring opponents 19-2 during that stretch. Mohamed finished with two assists. Wohltorf and Ali Shabani also had helpers.

Joe Clark and Logan Babcock connected in the second half as Pal-Mac (6-3-0) erased a deficit to win for the fifth time in six games. Trailing 1-0 after 40 minutes of play, Clark found the back of the net on an unassisted effort in the 48th minute. Babcock scored the game winner 20 minutes later with a helper from Mateo Sloan. Simon Lamparelli gave Attica the lead late in the first half. Ryan Meides assisted on the play.

Evan Campbell and Haden Abbott paced the Avoca/Prattsburg offense with a goal apiece. Macoy Putnam assisted on Campbell’s tally.
