The Red Wings rallied from 7-1 down to win 8-7 on Sunday at Scranton/Wilkes Barre.
Down 3-0, Victor Robles drove in Rafael Bautista with a single in the fifth.
The RailRiders scored four runs in the next three innings to make the lead 7-1.
Robles then homered to lead off the eighth inning. With two outs in the eighth, Alex Dunlap hit a three-run homer to left center, his second home run with the Wings, cutting the lead to 7-5.
In the top of the ninth, RailRiders reliever Brooks Kriske walked the first five batters to tie the game at 7. Nick Goody replaced Kriske and with one out, uncorked a wild pitch scoring Daniel Palka with the go-ahead run.
Rochester stranded the tying and winning runs on base in the ninth to preserve the victory and prevent a six-game sweep at the hands of the RailRiders.
Tanner Rainey picked up the victory in relief for the Red Wings.
Rochester hosts Buffalo for seven games starting on Tuesday at 6:05.
