Lucas Sulimowciz (Finger Lakes CC) connected on a two-out single to bring home the go-ahead run as the Monarchs rallied to clinch a spot in the 2021 Interstate Collegiate Baseball League Championship. Sulimowicz reached out and sent a two-strike pitch into right center and plated Jarod Signorelli (Elmira College) from second. The win was the eighth straight for the Monarchs which have not lost since dropping a 6-2 decision to the Ducks on July 18th.

Signorelli worked a one-out walk to spark the decisive inning. Patrick Kravitz (St. John Fisher College) followed with a single to set up Sulimowicz.

Clifton Genge (Niagara County CC) worked two scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. The right-hander retired six of the seven batters he faced. Genge surrendered a leadoff double to Jorge Oropeza (Finger Lakes CC) in the seventh but set down the next three batters without any further damage.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the sixth, the duo of Signorelli and Kravitz combined to tie the game. Signorelli broke up a Drew Delaney (Slippery Rock University) no-hitter with a one-out single. Kravitz followed with an RBI double. Kravitz accounted for half of the Monarchs hits going 2-for-4 on the night.

Oropeza reached on a two-base error and eventually scored on a dropped third strike to give the Orioles a 1-0 lead in the fifth. Gavin Moore (Alfred State), Will Porter (RIT) and Nathan Yantz (Utica College) collected a hit apiece for the Orioles.

Delaney took the tough-luck loss despite throwing 7.1 innings. The 6-foot-1 right-hander allowed two runs on three hits.
