The Interstate Collegiate Baseball League (ICBL) playoffs are set to begin on Sunday and culminate five days later with 2021 ICBL Championship game.
The double-elimination tournament opens with the fifth-place Cardinals taking on the fourth-place Ducks in the first of three games scheduled at Penfield’s Bachman Field on Sunday. A rise-and-shine 8 a.m. first pitch is scheduled for the opening battle. The winner of that game will take on the first-place Orioles in Sunday’s second tilt with the Blue Jays (third place) meeting the Monarchs (second) to round out the day’s action.
The 2021 ICBL playoffs will continue with two games on Tuesday and another pair on Thursday. The championship game(s) is slated for Friday.
Having clinched the regular season title in the second-to-last week of the season, the Orioles enter the post-season as the favorite. The Monarchs have a league-best six-game winning streak entering the playoffs.
Weekday start with a 5:30 p.m. first pitch and the nightcap follows within 30 minutes of the completion of the game one. All games are scheduled for Penfield’s Bachman Field.
